The second time he sees her they wave and smile at each other like old acquaintances. Both pleased to see each other. The silence between them speaks louder than words. Just then the train whistles and signals departure. He then says that he has to go to Delhi to which she replies helplessly she need not go anywhere. He then Jumps on the speeding train. Both of them separate unwillingly with nothing but hope between them of meeting again. Next mummer he leaves for Dear, eager to see the girl again, his grandmother being the excuse.

When he arrives at the station the girl is nowhere to be found. This deeply disappoints him. On his way back to Delhi he inquires about her at the Deli station and finds out that she has now stopped coming and nobody knows anything about her. Once again time comes into play and he has to rush off the station disappointed and unanswered. He decides that one day he would break his Journey and look for the girl who had stolen his heart but somehow he never manages to break the runner.

He seems afraid that he might not like what he might find out about the girl. She could have moved away, gotten married, fallen sick. He wants to keep the sweet memories of her and not spoil it with further inquiry. He

ends the story by saying that although he never breaks his Journey at Deli he tries to pass it as frequently as possible. Risking Bond in his story manages to capture the youthful infatuation.
