Other situations besides the brave soldiers and powerful superheroes who save the world from impossible challenges can also exhibit heroism.

To become a hero, it is essential to prioritize the well-being of others over oneself and demonstrate selflessness. It also involves displaying bravery when faced with adversity by approaching challenges wholeheartedly without hesitation. One must fulfill obligations based on faith and possess moral conviction to do what's right rather than seeking personal gain like fame, fortune or recognition.

There are many instances of people not just fulfilling their obligations, but acting based on their personal moral principles. These include a firefighter who courageously enters a burning structure to save someone trapped inside, a police officer who confronts and captures a dangerous criminal to safeguard others' safety, a lifeguard who boldly swims out to rescue someone drowning, and a doctor who e

There are countless acts of heroism that society often overlooks, such as therapists helping addicts and designated drivers ensuring their friends' safety. Despite the seemingly endless list of heroic deeds, society tends to remain apathetic until directly impacted. However, my own seven-year-old son, Laramie, stands out as a true hero in my eyes.

Laramie has lived a typical and energetic life for almost eight years despite being born with Aortic stenosis, which limits the flow of oxygenated blood to the body and brain through the Aortic valve. attempts to be quiet and avoid disturbing others, he frequently wakes in the night to rush to the bathroom and vomit. He expresses sincere apologies when we offer assistance. We have received a surgery date that he is prepared for, but I remain worried and on edge. Despite being only a child, I have never encountered anyone as brave as him. He demonstrates care for my well-being by offering snacks and drinks while setting aside his own concerns. Like a skilled watchdog, he safeguards his younger brother from harm.

With love and concern, he suggests that his father stop smoking so they can continue fishing together once he recovers. Despite having a heart condition with a faulty valve and other problems, he performs these altruistic actions without anticipating any reward. His heart is clearly brimming with affection, compassion, and benevolence.

Irrespective of whether he saves a life, becomes famous, attains presidency or not repeats any heroic act ever, he will always remain my hero. I regularly advise my son that there will always be someone younger than him facing tougher challenges and it's okay to feel scared.

Whenever I catch sight of him, his smile has a profound effect on my spirit. He offers solace and motivation, exhibiting his bravery in wanting to recover. His eagerness for a future without pain empowers him to anticipate returning to the baseball field.

As an adult, I lack the same sense of humor as children due to their active imagination and developing sense of fear, which ultimately shapes bravery. Unfortunately, in our bureaucratic society, children are often disregarded despite enduring more suffering than many adults do. Regrettably, I am too afraid to

inform him that it will inevitably recur within the next three to four years.

Despite hearing negative words from fearful adults, this selfless, passionate, and faithful child has shown me what it means to be a true hero. I am grateful to have learned various definitions of heroism, but through him, bravery, giving, and compassion take on new meaning for me.

The concept of heroism is limitless and increases with the passage of time. Although they possess immense power, many heroic qualities are often ignored due to their seemingly insignificant size in the grand scheme of things. However, when in the presence of a hero, these attributes can easily be transmitted through their contagious nature.
