exemplification paragraph
Examples of an exemplification paragraph may be data, stories, anecdotes, or facts. Exemplification paragraphs may be included in many other forms of writing, such as narrative, descriptive and persuasive.

definition paragraph
A definition paragraph is one of the seven types of sentences in the English language. It is a paragraph used to define an idea and do so in an objective manner. Such a paragraph should include references and authoritative sources. Examples of this type of paragraph would include everything that should be in this type of paragraph.

classification paragraph
Classification paragraphs start with a main idea, using the rest of the paragraph to explain a series of secondary ideas. Classification paragraph is made for the purpose of clearly defining something and placing it in a group according to its defined classification. To write a good classification paragraph, one has to be very detailed in its information. One can begin writing the paragraph in the order of most expensive to least, largest to smallest, and so on.

comparison/ contrast
A Comparison or Contrast essay is an essay in which you either compare something or contrast something. A comparison essay is an essay in which you emphasize the similarities, and a contrast essay is an essay in which you emphasize the differences. We use comparison and contrast thinking when deciding which university to attend, which car to buy, or whether to drive a car or take a bus or an airplane to a vacation site.
