I have selected to discuss the McDonald Corporation, which is also known as “The Golden Arches” and “Mickey Dee’s” as my main organization topic. Some of the main reasons for this organization being my chosen topic is because it is one of the most well known global largest chains of hamburger fast food restaurants, in which it is known for serving over 58 million customers on a daily basis. Customers can visit this fast paced organization in over 119 countries and there are over 31,000 restaurants worldwide which employ over 1. million employees.

A small company that was originally started in 1940 by two brothers has overtime become the world’s largest fast-food chain. McDonald’s Corporations has formed a very successful global strategy and centralized organizational structure. The McDonald’s organization has a multinational strategy which means the hierarchy’s of the company develop a decentralized organizational structure. This allows the decision making down to a lower level within the organization so that this way the multinational strategies will allow their international subsidiaries to form their own path. McDonald’s Corporations has maintained and steadily increased its history of rapid improvement and consistency within its internal and external organizational efficiency and products since its emergence.

leader. Because the corporation has clearly and distinctively understood how to leverage their immense strengths McDonald’s has become a global leader in relations to the way people all over the world eat. Leadership and management along with training has been a well endowed organizational structure that has been implemented with positive results over the years.

The internal management leadership teams are responsible to pursue positive individual and organizational outcomes. The management within the company is known for utilizing a strategy of give and take, by working and relating with other leaders to create a shared and common sense of purpose and direction. This implementation of influence processes moulds the objectives of the organization and to motivate the specific needs and goals of the organization culture internally within the corporation. The overall, responsibilities and roles of leadership and management are structured by growth and change.

Wal-Mart’s organizational structure coincides with McDonald’s organizational structure to certain specifics. Some of the specifics includes organizational changes due to both company’s becoming more global. Both companies are required to continuously change their organizational structures to do continuous growth, which includes market, clientele and profit earnings as well. Also, both companies strive to become closer with customers in various ways. Wal-mart for instance is known for reorganizing their cost and budget structure for clients which is better known to clients as “Roll Back” prices on products.

This helps to derive clients to going elsewhere for their needs and to continuously utilize Wal-Mart because of their low prices. The McDonald’s Company has been known to change their cost and budget structure for clients as well in, which the company

created “The Dollar Menu and Value Meals”. This became popular with clients because it has been known for some of the lowest menu prices available to any fast-food restaurant around the world. Overall, both companies have become globalized which has required them overtime too immensely and continuously overview and revise their organizational structures.

Hardee’s also known as Carl’s Jr. is the fifth largest fast-food restaurant chain in the United States. It is also globally known like McDonald’s Corporation so its organizational structure is well known and endowed to be globally organized. Although, Hardee’s is internationally known the company does not utilize a multinational strategy as much as McDonald’s Corporation. The restaurants outside the U. S. do not utilize the same menu that is marketed in the U. S. and some of the products vary as well.

Unfortunately, Hardee’s cost and budget structure has not been reorganized with such customer friendly cost as McDonald’s corporation has. Hardee’s is better known for their quality of meet and their “Thick Burger” and not for a “Dollar Menu” like the McDonald’s corporation is. Hardee’s organizational structure also has not been tempered to be as child friendly and welcoming like the McDonald’s Corporation has been. One of the main determinative key factors to McDonald’s ability to be consistent with its functionality worldwide is its Advertising.

McDonald’s utilizes advertising methods such as: televisions, newspaper, radio, billboards and internet ads. Another important key factor as to how McDonald’s has been able to continuously function effectively worldwide is its Marketing utilization and methods. The McDonald’s Company has also been known to effectively utilize Eco-Friendly packaging which allows them to utilize

the economical and environmental structure that it is looked upon as a positive perspective from many others. Because of this type of structure it has been known for effectively showing their commitment and managing skills to lectric energy by conserving well known natural resources by following through with their organizational strategies toward its environmental structure.

McDonald’s Company goals consistently remain alike with the characteristics of various formalized organizational structures. Some of the specific tactics and key points to adapt to new work environments and change, but the organization does well at leveraging its hierarchical structure to positively motivate its employees and continuously influence change to adapt to increasing complexities.

The concurrent hierarchical structure of the company supports its ability to adapt and change quickly by providing specific clarity of roles, decision-making, merging and coordinating activities despite any existing individualities internally in regards to the workforce. The company has continuously overall been able to revise and fulfill their organizational structures on various levels with positive results. It also continues to receive prestigious awards for their leading training, which includes the “Employer of Choice Award” from the Restaurant Business Management Magazine.

The most important organization structures that should be continuously focused on by the McDonald’s Company should be utilized as customer-based; this keeps family and child friendly clients close to the company. Also, the marketing organizational structure is very important as well as it continuously informs all people globally about what McDonald’s Corporation has to offer and what new emerging changes perspective customers might like. This helps to keep customers engaged with the company on an on-going basis.
