II. Background of the Problem Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903. It was one of the world’s most profitable corporations. In recent years however, Ford have not fared well because of the recession and maybe their consumers were not satisfied. In 2009, Ford faced declining sales of 23.4 percent, a change in leadership and a great possibility that it would have to file bankruptcy like other automakers such as General Motors and Chrysler. Under a new leadership, Ford embarked on a new strategy by reducing costs, placing emphasis on trendy car models and closing 16 factorie.

government and other organizations on the production of eco-friendly cars, it has become important for every car maker to introduce the cars which are more fuel efficient and emit less smoke without causing harm to the environment. Advantage: The company will gain competitive advantage and can gain more attraction from potential buyers. Disadvantage: The eco-friendly cars are not great on highways because they have less power and slower acceleration. This means that they are not as sporty to drive like some can be. Another disadvantage is that they are more expensive to maintain.

Plan B: Marketing. The company should continue with the current marketing strategies but they should also have TV ads that can engage in the public relations to attract the general public about newly introduced products and how concerned the company is towards social issues. Advantages: This will raise awareness among the people about your products. If the advertisement is excellent, the consumers will buy the products. Disadvantages: Producing a TV commercial is very expensive. And for viewers, TV advertisements can be annoying and they might not see all the hard work you’ve done.

Plan C: The Ford company should lower their prices. I suggest that Ford motors should produce cars which are better not only for their features, performance and fuel efficiency but also in the pricing of the car. Advantages: More people will buy the cars. This will also help launch new product lines. Disadvantages: It could anger past customers who have already purchased the cars at a higher price.

VI. Recommendations and Conclusion I recommend the implementation of plan C. They should create small cars that is cheaper.Since

the customers want excellent features, quiality performance with affordable prices, I suggest Ford motors to produce cars which are not only better but are also cheaper. Small cars will cost less, get better milleage, easier to park and fun to drive. Because of that, they will have more buyers and this will increase their sales.
