Essays on Plastic Pollution
Plastic pollution is one of the most serious environmental problems facing the world today. Every year, millions of tons of plastic are discarded into our environment and oceans where it accumulates and causes harm to wildlife, marine life and human health. Plastic can be found in every corner of the planet ” from deep-sea trenches to remote mountain tops. If we don’t take action now, this problem will only continue to get worse. The main sources of plastic pollution come from single-use plastics such as bags, bottles and packaging materials that are not recycled or disposed of responsibly after use. These items end up in landfills, rivers, lakes and ocean ecosystems where they become trapped in habitats or ingested by sea animals who mistake them for food. This has a devastating effect on aquatic ecosystems as well as human health due to their toxicity when broken down over time. In order to reduce the amount of plastic entering our environment each year it is important that consumers are educated on sustainable waste disposal practices such as recycling and composting whenever possible instead of just throwing away single-use items like water bottles or straws which can easily end up polluting our oceans if not thrown away properly. Additionally, governments need to invest more heavily in research into new packaging materials that have less impact on the environment than traditional plastics do so that companies can begin transitioning towards using these alternatives instead for their products’ packaging needs.

Surface water quality is declining as water temperature increases and more frequent high-intensity rainfall events mobilize pollutants such as pathogens and plastics, […]

Shockingly, plastic can even be found on the moon, ever since 1969 when Neil Armstrong set up a nylon US flag on the astronomical body (“Plastic Surgery; Pollution”). It has become a highly favored substance, […]
