The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Homecoming is a phenomenal movie that will leave viewers in awe. The film follows Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he navigates his newfound identity as Spider-Man and attempts to balance high school life with his crime fighting mission given to him by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). With an amazing cast, great plot line and spectacular special effects, this is definitely a must see for Marvel fans. Tom Holland does an incredible job in portraying our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. His portrayal of Peter Parker captures the innocence, awkwardness and eagerness that comes with being a teenage superhero perfectly. He brings out the humor of the character while still maintaining a sense of vulnerability that makes us sympathize with him even more. Robert Downey Jr’s performance as Tony Stark was genius; not only did it add another layer of complexity to the story but also gave us insight into Iron Man’s motivations behind becoming a mentor to Peter Parker which was very satisfying after seeing their relationship grow throughout the film. On top of these two great performances were fantastic supporting characters who added much needed comic relief and kept us engaged throughout the entire movie. The plotline was incredibly engaging at all times due to its fast pace and unpredictable nature making it thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. As mentioned before there were plenty of comic moments which lightened up some darker scenes without taking away from its seriousness which I personally appreciated since it made me empathize with Peter’s struggle more than ever before. Additionally, we are introduced deeper into what will soon become known as the Avengers Initiative giving us hints about future events within this universe ” something that left most viewers excited for what’s yet come. Lastly, special effects wise you can be sure that there won’t be any disappointments whatsoever. From action packed fight sequences featuring multiple enemies at once through intense aerial battles between spiderman and his adversaries; no stone was left unturned in providing audiences with jaw dropping visuals that make this already awesome experience even better. All things considered; Spider-Man: Homecoming is an absolute must watch if you’re looking for an entertaining time at your local theater or home cinema set up. Not only do you get great performances from both Tom Holland & Robert Downey Jr., but you also have an exciting plot filled with unexpected twists along with stunning visual effects ” truly making it one movie not worth missing out on.
