International joint venture according to its definition is an enterprise which is formed as a result of the integration of the businesses of two companies. Businesses of one party are transferred to the Company and as consideration for such transfer; shares are issued by the Company and subscribed by that party. The other party subscribes for the shares in cash. The required proportion of the sun to be invested is agreed upon by both and finally the new business sees the light of the day (Anderson, 1990).

Identifying and reaching agreement with the right company can be very time consuming, and developing a strong relationship can take years (Hannah ; Freeman, 1984).
