Events that have occurred in the past have effects on present activities. In the book Kite Runner the story is about Amir who is a Sunni Muslim and struggles too much to find a place of his on earth as a result of the effects which came to him later and fallout afterward from a complication of childhood events. Amir who is an adult shows the effects of his childhood actions at the beginning of the novel. In most areas where he is involved the actions tend to flashback to his childhood life in Afghanistan. Moreover for experiences of typical childhood, Amir is seen to struggle to try to forge a closer and better relationship with his own father known as Baba in the novel. ...ween himself and Hassan, who is a Muslim servant. He eventually resolves this by finding a way for atoning for decisions before adolescence which have lasting effects.
In the novel readers can figure out the experience of having grown up in a home with a single parent and particularly in Afghanistan, a situation which a lot of similarities with most of the contemporary households. Amir who is a character in this novel shows how his past has affected his performance. He is found having a great idea of proving himself to Baba although it is seen that Baba had a true love towards him. In this part, he is suited well and plays the role very well because he has been brought up by a single parent. However Amir makes one big mistakes which is seen in chapter
7 of the novel. He sees one of his best friends who is being raped by a man called Assef who is in company with his friends also. Amir then decides that he cannot stand up and act in the place of Hassan because Hassan always helped where he was required. This is cowardice which Amir shows towards this heartless Assef, and ultimately paid the price with having that betrayal on his conscience for the rest of his life.
With such betrayal, and trying to keep out of mind that this would please Baba, he lives throughout the whole of his life without ever telling any person about what happened. He had too much jealousy, and this had affected innocence of young children, his best friends, and even his younger brothers. The novel shows that also Baba wanted Amir to grow up into a man like, like he was. Baba is shown to be a man who harassed the women around him at the time he was travelling to the United States. Baba struggles putting up an example of a man who is good and has gained good aspects Amir. Although Baba seems not to interest in solving problems he has a lot of love on Amir. He still shows love on Baba. Baba also has a feeling of being guilty for taking Hassan for a child whom he can hardly take good care of.
