Domestic violence is a significant challenge within families and often remains hidden. While the traditional idea of a happy family is idealized, this is not always the reality as domestic violence has been tolerated in the past and continues to be prevalent today. Psychological abuse can be just as damaging as physical harm, but it is often overlooked or denied despite affecting anyone regardless of their background.

In the past, physical violence against wives was legal and seen as a means of punishment. This belief stemmed from the idea that women were inferior and would love their husbands more if they were beaten. Due to the notion that family matters should be kept private, cases of domestic abuse often went unreported, leading to many instances of abuse going unnoticed. Fathers held complete control over all family matters as head of household and it was wid
