I jumped from one roof to the ridge of a lower one, but missed my footing and cut my leg quite deeply. I slid down the roof to a small projection or niche unoccupied by a proposed statue. I slid down the smooth marble column supporting the niche and then jumped to the ground.

He smashed through the windows cutting his wrists, but succeeded in making a hole big enough for Curry. While he was being pulled through the hole, Curry struck his head on a stone railing and went unconscious. However, Pope succeeded in extricating him and laid him on the balcony. Pope then tried to reach McCutcheon and succeeded in reaching him and locking his arms and tried to drag him through. Then Pope lost consciousness. Then was taken to the Phi Kappa Psi house. When Pope fell Curry revived.

Schmuck immeadiately crawled back to the window and began a vain search for Nichols. Nichols, evidently stupefied, or, misunderstanding Schmuck's directions, had apparently opened the door into the hall. The blast of flames undoubtedly enveloped him in an instant. Schmuck continued searching until in desperate agony he rushed to the window and jumped.
