A team is a group of people who have a full set of skills required to complete a duty, task or a project. These members share responsibility and authority for self-management. Each of them accounts for the corporate performance. A team is more efficient because the members can do greater than the sum of its individual members.

There is a variety of different groups in each place of work. Just to mention a few, there are innovation teams, temporary teams, cross-cultural teams and virtual teams. These teams have shared properties. One of the characteristic features is how they are formed. The basic approach in their formation is the same in that members should create an emotionally conducive climate for each member. They should also build relationships and establish methods for working together. These teams also differ in some ways.

e, virtual teams are formed to help people who live in different geographical locations work together, (Dyer & Dyer 2013). Cross-cultural groups, on the other hand, are intended to build strong interaction between people from different backgrounds. Temporary teams are short lived. They are formed to perform a given task for a short duration of time after which they are terminated.

These groups have some advantages. First and foremost, members are exposed to team relationship virtues and get exposure to personal development. Also, members are able to learn from each other. They also provide a broad range of talent for the task to be done, (Jackson & Ruderman 1995). Despite the strengths, working in teams also faces some challenges especially when the members do put forth a united front. They may sometimes indulge in blame game when things

do not function as expected and point fingers at one another at times of crisis. Things may go incredibly wrong when there is a clash of ideas. But all in all, working as a team is more advantageous.
