*Mitchell hall was the "Old Main" of the Milwaukee normal school. Today it is home to our Graduate school, academic opportunity center, accessibility Resource center and the dance Department within the PECK school of the arts. Mitchell hall also holds classes for film, theater, Art and design, Art history *Mitchell is also where the bursars office is located, its where you would go make payments for tuitions and fees. *this building is also the backdrop for our class picture which is taken at the end of our first week of school

Golda Meir Library

* Golda Meir library is an amazing resource for UWM students. the library offers over 5.2 million items including books, ebooks, maps an dvds, technology equipment video, games and much more *The first floor west wing is the learning commons. this space is the largest computer lab on campus is open 24 hours 7 days a weeks during the spring and fall semesters *in the first floor east wing of the library is the writing center satelite and campus tutoring PASS supplemental instruction and tutoring. *As uwm students you can borrow books from any UW library

*This bulding is mellencamp hall. Since this is noise sensitve builidning i am going to cover some highligths of the building before we walk though. *Mellencamp is home to our Dean of students office /dos can assist students with personal matters and serve as a resource for helping you navigate the university. * the registers office is where you would go to get your student ID *The financial aid office is here and they are very helpful with questions regarding student loans or any financial aid *mellencamp is also home to our military benefits office and our career development center

Front of Spaights Plaza

*here we have the heart of campus, Spaights plaza which is known as one of the best places on campus to sit and grab a bite to eat, study or relax when the weather is nice. there is often free food, entertainment and other campus promotions in this area

*As you can see our Union food court has traditional food options such as taco bell and burger king, but they also have other food options such as pizza, ice cream, wraps and stir fry. Most places on campus that sell food or drink will accept your meal plan * in the book store you will find apparel in addition to your course books, we are primarily book purchasing campus. we do offer some books for rent, used books as well as a book buy program to save you money, we also do offer some e texts as well

* This is the Union concourse its the hearts of the union more then 22, 00 student walk through here daily * here we have the 8th note coffee house which is a student run and volunteer coffee house on campus*over here is the Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research (SEE-Blur) CBLLR offers volunteer opportunities with the community and is the great resource for service work that may be required for a class, they sometimes can offer transportation to and from

* Here we have the Terrace, which is home to the union station, a convienient store that offers made-to-order food items and a sushi *here we also have our military and veterans resource center otherwise known as MAVRC, The LGBT resource center, womens resource center, and our Neighborhood housing office which helps students with finding landlords and off campus housing *over here is the parking and transit office, which is where you get your upass they also have parking information

PARKING: we have three free lots, pavilion, NW QUAD, and capitol Humboldt U-park lot. The K and NWQ fill up quickly but the capital-Humboldt parking space has a lot of space a shuttle from there brings you to campus so it take a couple minutes longer -talk about big commuter school here BUS- every student gets a bus card to use that takes them anywhere in Milwaukee county . the bus is safe efficient and free . right here from campus you can catch the bus downtown. Bay shore mall, Walmart, the lake front WALKING: Over half of the UWM students resides within two miles of UWM , you can walk bike take the university shuttle

the Alumni side fireside lounge is known as one of the best quiet study spots on campus many events are held here as well for example in January we have casa Abierta where we hold tours for perspective students in both English and Spanish

This building was formally Columbia of saint mary's hospital it is now the home of the school of information sciences and college of health sciences advising *northwest quad has the UWM children learning center and on campus day care system open to UWM students and staff *not the whole building is used so when another building is being renovated this is where the temporary room would be

there are three building available for students river view etc etc Riverview and cambridge are located on south campus they are the newer residences both mad ein 2010 adn 2008 there is a shuttle service as discussed before that take you to and from campus Talk about: -lounge service desk -security -lounges in between floors have game room study areas tvs etc - suit style dorms -living learning community -cafeteria- you pay for what you eat three levels 50% off -computer lab -palms restore grind

-we have over 150 safe phones/booths all through out campus -red buttin connects directly to UWM police we have a less then two minute response time -BOSS scuttle service available 6pm -2am days a week-2 miles radius - freee schuttle service for students to and from off campus dorms - safe walkers -campus escort service the uwm police department is located under west tower and as a Uwm you are automatically opted to safety alerts to your phone

The K offers an inviting space to work out and take part in a vast amount of recreational activities it also where some of our division one sports team compete the K is open 7 days a week sports medicine services are offered here *outdoors pursuits is an awesome org that coordinates outdoors adventures such as kayaking, climbing hiking and more pool- we have a college size pool that students are able to use during open swim tallk about the workout area -we offer many intramural sports such as basketball, tennis, soccer, tennis trivia as well as club sports which you have to try out for.
