Someone fails to recognize another person rights and autonomy

Negligence four elements: -Duty to act -Breaches that duty -Damage that occur from conduct -Conduct that is substandard, causing injury

Three area to be satisfied: -Unwanted or unwelcome -behavior sexual in nature or related to gender -being harassed by superior or peer Four Elements that create a case: -Submission or rejection used for obtaining employment -Submission or rejection used to determine status of employment -Conduct interferes with person's employment -Creates hostile work enivorment

7 Standards

PTA shall respect the rights and dignity of all individuals and shall provide compassionate care

PTA shall act in a trustworthy manner towards patients

PTA shall provide selected physical therapy interventions only under the supervision and directions of a physical therapist

PTA shall comply with laws and regulations governing physical therapy

PTA shall achieve and maintain competence in the provision of selected physical therapy interventions

PTA shall make judgements that are commensurate with their educational and legal qualifications as a PTA

PTA shall protect the public and the profession from unethical, incompetent, and illegal acts
