In my personal and professional life I apply critical thinking to evaluate various (and occasionally conflicting) ideas from different sources, and then deciding on the most realistic determination possible centered on the existing information. For example, when I am faced with a vital decision, the foremost thing I do is flashback on how my previous experience could influence my choice of action in the prevailing circumstances. My previous experience may be so influential that it bars me from seeking for an alternative method to more effectively approach a challenge, or function as a blinder such that I can not even realize that there is a better option, when it is right there with me.
Critical thinking is used by nurses in the course of dealing with patients’ problems and decision-making methods with creativeness to produce positive results. Critical thinking is an important process for a secure, effec
tive as well as competent nursing intervention. For example, nurses use critical thinking, together with creativeness to produce desirable outcomes because they can identify particular solutions to particular problems where ordinary interventions may not be effective. In spite of their creativity, nurses develop new ideas very fast, they are flexible, and they develop original solutions to challenges, act individually and with confidence, under pressure, and exhibit originality (Papathanasiou et al, 2014).
Critical thinking is considered a vital transferrable skill by current market employers because the ability to effectively strategize, plan and organize shows that you are more likely to get the task accomplished correctly the first time. Critical thinking skills are valuable to businesses as they save time and resources. Creative thinkers are inventive and resourceful and they stand a higher chance of
devising new methods of doing things that are beneficial to the business environment, turning around systems and procedures to be more effective. Creative thinkers can provide new viewpoints regarding the job and the firm (Jasper, 2006).
