Prologue

In the prologue, the story tells you about the setting, which is an August in a town called Treegap. The prologue also explains that 3 things that doesn't match that happens in Treegap. The three things are that Winnie Foster gets tired of her home, and she decides to run away. A stranger lingers at Treegap, and, he looks likes he is looking for something, and Mae is going out somewhere, but trying to be hidden.

The chapter tells you about Treegap, which has a forest, but it has a mystery. The mystery isn't revealed yet,, but the chapter tells that the animals are trying to hide the mystery, so that the people can't go towards the forest.

In the epilogue, the setting is in the 1950s, which is about 70 years after Mae escapes from prison. The whole Tucks come to Treegap, looking for Winnie. Apparently, the Foster wood and the cottage are gone, and Winnie passed out 2 years ago. The whole Tuck family leaves Treegap, and looks for a new place to live.
