A seaside town- a suburb of the Hague- a federal penitentiary- Gestapo headquarters for all of Holland- father refused to go home and "not let others in"- Corrie sent to hospital- nurse hit a bar of soap, gospels - Carrie in solitary- birthday in prison-ants0 embroidered pajamas-Jolie wrote (under a stamp) that father had died 10 days after arrest.

A women's extermination camp in Germany- traveled 4 days in a railroad boxcar to get there- lice in the straw-3 nights under the sky-piles of clothes and nude shower-Bible, vitamins, sweater saved....

Group was too larger- at mealtimes soldiers could see in the dining room- Mollie, Annaliese arrested-both released- Carrie afraid she would tell the truth to the Gestapo......

Ready to evacuate the prison- collected possessions of sweater, toothbrush, cob, pajamas, crackers wrapped in toilet paper; put in pillowcase- 3 hours passed looks for ants-concentration camp named after a small village nearby.........

Father- 80 Years old- radio gift from Pickwick- Carrie lied about the radio- Father turned off radio when Prime Minister said no war for Holland- Queen of Holland left country- Carrie almost hit with shrapnel in her bed- Mr. Kan's shop did not open up one day-Fur shop raided- Man kills the dogs he loves- Carrie gives herself to be used by God for the Jewish people.

Bettie is 13-18 years old- Carrie is 6-11 years old- Tante Jans had 2 rooms of furniture- all 3 of aunts were living with them-......

Feb. 28, 1944- Carrie sick in bed with influenza - man from ermeelo paid 600 builders- drills for the Jews- "Alpena" sign broken- Home turned into a trap.....

After 3 months, Carrie called for her first hearing- tulip bulbs by the 4th hut- "He" started a fire for her- she witnessed to him and he let her see the back of beastie.....

Mama in a coma for 2 months- mama called everyone corrie- Carrie learned much about love- Carrie was now 27 yrs old- mama could not walk or speak now- at Nellie's wedding, mama miraculously sang her favorite hymn.....

Two years after Holland fell- peter taken away- its 8pm and Jews are showing up at the door- staged robbery, 100 ration cards corrie meets the "underground" people- Mr. Smiths installs a false wall

Corrie is released, but not released; edema of the wet- bed pans- she and beastie both "out of prison" by the new year as in Betsie's vision- terribly long and hard trip home- the war was finally over- rehabilitation house in the vision realized- traveling the world to tell people their story (as Betsie said)

Corrie a child of 14- "He" was smoking cigars with Willem at the university- mama has a stroke, says that happiness us something we make inside ourselves.....

Carrie on potato detauk- Betsie, the knitter, very sick; trips to the hospital with her- Corrie needs glasses and doesn't go to munitions work- betsie has visions of a big house and flower......

Beje, old Haarlem structure-mama loved occasions, has a gift of hospitality- chistoffels in a new black suit, vest, shirt and tie- Corrie went to get Nollie's cups- foreshadowed events- alley by the beje crowded with bicycles, Mr and Mrs Kan there, Willem comes late with a disfigured Jew.

"The razzia," searching buildings for 16-30 year old males- 2 soldiers come to the beje to search- scores of ewe now were passing through- harry (the bulldog) and Cato moved to Mrs DeBoers home.......
