Three days ago I was feeling on top of the world. I had just been accepted into the university program of my dreams and was feeling incredibly proud and optimistic about my future. I spent the day celebrating with friends, filled with joy for what this opportunity could mean for me.The next day, however, my mood shifted drastically. My mom was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and it felt like all of my joy from the previous day had been stripped away. It felt like life had suddenly become much more complicated, and I found myself questioning how to navigate this new path ahead of me. Although it was difficult to accept that things were no longer as simple as they had once been, I knew that this experience would ultimately help shape who I am today and make me stronger in the long run.Today, two days after receiving such unexpected news, I’m still processing everything that’s happened over these past few days but am feeling more hopeful than ever before. Through difficult times like these it’s easy to feel lost or confused but having family and friends by your side to rely on can make all the difference in getting through tough times together. Even though there are so many unknowns right now, one thing is certain – we will get through this together as a family, no matter what comes our way in the future.
