What is Interior Design?
Interior design is the practice of creating and altering the physical environment within a space to create a visually appealing and functional environment. It is a field that encompasses both the practical aspects of architecture, such as selecting colors and materials, as well as the more aesthetic aspects, such as creating atmosphere and ambiance. Interior design takes into account how people interact with their spaces, so it involves understanding human behavior and preferences. In interior design, form follows function. This means that before any decorative elements are added to an interior space, designers must first consider how it will be used. For example, if designing a kitchen or bathroom, designers must take into account things like cabinet heights or countertop depths so that they are comfortable for the user to use effectively. Likewise, when choosing furniture for living rooms or bedrooms, comfort should be taken into consideration so that users can relax in their space without feeling cramped or uncomfortable. Overall, interior design is about creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere while also considering practical needs of those who use the space. By taking into account different factors such as lighting fixtures and floor plans in addition to color palettes or wallpapers choices – creative solutions can be developed to make spaces both beautiful and functional at the same time.
