What is Early 20th Century?
The early 20th century was a period of tremendous change and upheaval. It marked the dawn of a new age, one characterized by unprecedented scientific discovery, technological advances, and profound social changes. This era saw the emergence of mass production techniques which revolutionized industry and commerce, as well as immense economic growth in many countries. New forms of entertainment were developed such as radio and cinema which brought culture to millions around the world. Political ideologies such as communism, fascism, and socialism gained adherents in many nations. On a global scale, World War I broke out in 1914 and lasted four years; World War II began just two decades later in 1939.Within this tumultuous backdrop emerged some of the most influential figures of modern history: Albert Einstein created his Theory of Relativity; Sigmund Freud pioneered psychoanalysis; Marie Curie made groundbreaking discoveries in nuclear physics; Mahatma Gandhi initiated nonviolent civil disobedience campaigns for Indian independence from Britain; Franklin D Roosevelt launched The New Deal policies to pull America out of the Great Depression; Winston Churchill led Britain during its darkest days during WWII; Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus sparking the U.S Civil Rights Movement; Vladimir Lenin founded Soviet Communism while Mao Zedong established Communist rule over China through guerrilla warfare tactics.In short, it can be said that no other period before or since has seen such revolutionary changes at such high speeds across so many different fronts science & technology, economics & industry, politics & ideology all within just one generation.
