The online shopping site for Motives cosmetics makeup by Loren Ridinger where customers can earn cashback with purchases.
Motives Pro-Artists
A motives program where makeup artists are given the opportunity to purchase Motives products at up to 40% less the retail. Although not Unfranchise Owners, Motives Pro Artist are given their own Motives website and pay a $40 subscription fee.
One-Cart Stores
MA branded products and partner store products that purchase directly from the Shop.com site.
OPC 3
Is an isotonic-capable food supplement that is made from a combination of bilberry, grape seed, red wine and pine bark extracts, and citrus extract bioflavonoids, all found to be powerful antioxidants.
Partner Stores
Group of merchants (stores) who participate in the cashback/IBV program who require the customer to purchase through their site.
Personal Preferred Customer
Preferred customer accounts of Unfranchise Owners. All UFOs whether a Sales Representative or Distributor is his own PC.
Sign-Up Wizard
Unfranchise.com screen where Unfranchise Owners will either sign up/complete a sign up of a new UFO/Sales Representative.
Sales Representative
A new Unfranchise owner who has only submitted an Independent Distributor Application and Agreement (Does not have any portals and cannot earn commission).
Unfranchise Owner
Entry of a distributor with three BDC’s, by submitting an initial order along with the Independent Distributor Application and Agreement and the Entry Subscription Fee.
Business Volume
The numeric value assigned to Market America products and services, which accumulates towards the pay out of commission checks.
Distributor Management Control
An Internal System for Tracking Distributor’s Information.
Power Profile
A solid online representation of those UnFranchise Owners who hit the success level of Master Coordinator and above.
Executive Coordinator
A Coordinator who has accumulated a minimum of 5000 GBV on both left and right sides of a BDC and has earned that $600.00 commission check.
Shopping Annuity
An incentive program for UnFranchise Owners to convert spending into Earning (i.e. redirecting purchases you’re already making to SHOP.COM).
Unfranchise Autoship
A standing order that is shipped automatically monthly, paid for by bank draft or credit card. This order is designed to cover the PBV necessary to exercise the Monthly Accrual ‘Transfer Buy.’
Sales Receipt Entry
An UnFranchise.com feature allowing UnFranchise owners to generate manual receipts for their customers.
Qualified UnFranchise Owner
– Distributor who has met all three of the following criteria:
a. accumulated at least 200 PBV in a BDC;
b. paid Subscription fee; and
c. is linked properly.
Monthly Accrual Option
Gives a qualified BDC the ability to accrue GBV month to month.Place a minimum amount of PBV on the UnFranchise Owner’s BDC-001 by every monthly Q-date.
Qualification Date (Q-Date)
Usually the Friday of the week in which an initial BDC accumulates at least 200 PBV. This Q-date is the date on which both monthly and quarterly due dates are based for each distributor.
Start Date
The date when an application is entered in the Market America system and an UnFranchise Owner is created in the database.
Minimum Activity Requirements
apply to the respective status and/or UnFranchise Levels to be considered “active” in the conduct of business. “Activity” shall be defined as any sale and/or order of products/services having BV/IBV and an associated retail profit or ongoing BV/IBV from an initial sale having a retail profit where the respective UnFranchise ID number is the paying ID number or the purchasing customer is a registered PC of the respective UnFranchise Owner/Sales Representative.
Annual Renewal
The renewal of the Unfranchise business each year.
Sales Representative – Submit annual renewal form (No renewal fee.)
Unfranchise Owner – Submit annual renewal form (Renewal Fee.)
Re-entry
For the BV MPCP, it is where distributors have the ability to earn more BDC(s) by receiving their first good flush check (at 5000/5000). For the IBV MPCP and the global MPCP, it is the ability to open an IBV or global bank of existing BDC to accrue volume towards commissions
Placement
Term used to illustrate the distributor or BDC directly above or below a particular distributor or BDC in the Market America genealogy line. Also referred to as “linkage.”
Red Flush
Accrued GBV totals on left and right in all personal BDC’s reset to 0, because the Unfranchise owner did not submit the minimum monthly PBV to exercise the Monthly Accrual Option. This only affects the UFO in question.
Green Flush
Accrued GBV totals on left and right reset to 0 in a particular BDC, because the distributor accrued at least 5,000 GBV on the left and at least 5,000 GBV on the right of that BDC for a weekly commission cycle.
Business Development Center
Often referred to as an income center. The placement in which BV is stored and to which commissions and bonuses are paid.
Coordinator
A distributor who has earned his/her first commission check.
Executive Coordinator
A Coordinator who has accumulated a minimum of 5000 GBV on both left and right sides of a BDC and has earned that $600.00 commission check.
Executive Coordinator Acknowledgment and Agreement (Form 925)
This form outlines the expectations and requirements of Coordinators by Market America. Read this agreement carefully. If you have any questions, contact your sponsor or upline Certified Executive Coordinator. Once you have read and agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement, complete the information of the agreement, and sign and date it. This form must be completed and submitted once and is incorporated annually in the Annual Renewal Form submission thereafter.
Executive Coordinator Qualification and Application (Form 1001)
This form certifies that the Distributor understands and has met or intends to meet the requirements to earn subsequent commissions and bonuses in the Management Performance Compensation Plan. This form must be completed and submitted once and is incorporated annually in the Annual Renewal Form submission thereafter.
Management Performance Compensation Plan
Market America’s commission pay out plan(s). Distributors are paid commissions for managing, training, supplying, supporting and motivating their organizations to produce retail sales volume. There must be an ongoing sales and supervisory function. Qualified, active and activated BDCs participating in the MPCP shall be eligible to earn commission and leadership bonuses weekly on Group Business Volume generated by distributors (including sales representatives) in their downline organizations.
Quarter
Period of three months:

Begins on the Saturday following the initial Q-Date (Or the Start Date for Sales Reps)
Ends three months later on the Q-Date
The next quarter begins the next day (Saturday)
Also called “3 Q-Date period”

Group Business Volume
The collective business volume generated by all distributors within an individual’s downline organization. This BV accumulates towards the pay out of commission checks.
Unfranchise Owner Sales Report (Form 1000)
Report showing proof of at least $200.00 retail sales to at least two different customers. This form is due each three-Q-date period for BDC-001and one-time only for all other extensions of the same I.D. number.
28 Day Grace period
If a commission check that will increase an UnFranchise Owner’s minimum monthly PBV amount is earned within 28 days of the upcoming monthly Q-date, then the UnFranchise Owner remains at the current BV level to continue to accrue GBV month-to-month. The UnFranchise Owner must then submit the applicable PBV (100 PBV for Coordinator; 150 PBV for Executive Coordinator) for the first monthly Q-date period for which the 28-Day Grace Period does not apply.
270 day rule
UnFranchise Owners who have been inactive for more than 270 days, and less than 1000 days; can rejoin Market America:
-Back to SAME GENEALOGY LINE (under their original inactive BDC)-via the Sign Up Wizard.
-Rejoin to DIFFERENT GENEALOGY LINE- if approved by the Field Compliance Department.
Personal Business Volume
Business volume placed in any of a distributor’s personal BDC’s. This BV is used initially to qualify a BDC, and also to be able to continue to accrue GBV monthly and meet quarterly BV requirements.
Group Business Volume
The collective business volume generated by all distributors within an individual’s downline organization. This BV accumulates towards the pay out of commission checks.
Internet Business Volume
The numeric value generally assigned to Partner Store products and services, which accumulates towards the pay out of commission checks in the IBV MPCP.
First Quarter Grace Period
A qualified BDC will continue to accrue Group Business
Volume through the first Three-Q-Date Period provided a minimum of 50 Personal Business Volume in addition to the qualifying order(s) has been placed and assigned to the respective UnFranchise Owner’s BDC-001 within (i.e., prior to the end of) their first Three-Q-Date Period, and the respective UnFranchise Owner has purchased at least one month’s subscription to the UnFranchise Management System in the last month of their first Three-Q-Date Period.
Preferred Customer
A customer who provides his/her personal information to an Unfranchise Owner or Market America affiliated sites to purchase products.
EZ Register
The process of allowing a customer to shop at partner stores and access areas of Market America by initially providing their email address only.
Invite Partner Now
A tool that allows Unfranchise owners the ability to send their prospect an invitation to sign up and join Market America from anywhere without having to go through the Sign-up wizard.
Health Professional
A licensed health care provider who has signed an agreement to be an UnFranchise owner and will focus on selling nutraMetrix products. HPs can participate in MPCP.
E-Gifts
Personalized set of gift choices for selected recipients facilitated by PC’s or PPC’s through shop.com.
Business Development Center
Often referred to as an income center. The placement in which BV is stored and to which commissions and bonuses are paid.
Market America Order Number
An 8-digit order number (Sequence# in DMC) associated with any Market America order (EX: 54639087)

Term used to refer to a Distributor’s Title based on what commissions have been issued. See ladder of achievement in Career Manual.
Tokenizer
A tool that allows Market America to mask credit card numbers into coded language for the security of its customers.
UFMS
The UnFranchise Management System is a series of services, tools and systems designed to help manage a UFO sales organization, maximize your time and grow your UnFranchise business.
Web Portal
An unfranchise owners personal page on Market America affiliated websites identified by a chosen name entered after the shop.com web link to direct customers purchases to the UFO (i.e. www.shop.com/PORTALNAME.)
Unified Global Center (UGC)
designated when an UnFranchise Owner has qualified his/her IRC and accumulates 1200/1200 BV/IBV in Home Region volume.
International Re-Entry Center (IRC)
A BDC allowing Market America Unfranchise Owners to expand into specific regions without having to follow the Global MPCP requirements.
Sales Tax Exemption
The exemption from Sales tax fees on Market America orders aerf a Sales Tax ID number has been provided by the Unfranchise Owners. Doing so asserts the Unfranchise Owner has accepted the responsibility of fulfilling his/her state sales tax requirements.
TLS (Transition Lifestyles)
The Transitions Lifestyle System is a total-system approach that promotes healthy food choices, behavior modification and menu plans.
