Before we start, I would like you to feel completely free and comfortable to stop me while I'm talking and ask questions. I will do my absolute best to answer your questions honestly and fully and the Admissions Office will be happy to answer any questions that I cannot.

Founded 1876, GCC has provided its students with an excellent academic education in a thoroughly Christian environment keeping annual tuition and associated costs low for families. As we walk around the campus, you will be able to see the distinctiveness of these three pillars.

Built 1938 by Harry T. Crawford. Houses Administrative Offices (President's, Admissions, Financial Services, Financial Aid, Campus Safety, Academic Resource Center, Student Employment, and The Vision and Values Center. Features a 1200 seat auditorium used for several activities such as talent shows, etc.

GCC Founded in 1876 and has about 2500 students. 31 buildings and many athletic fields (170 acres) Upper Campus and Lower Campus separated by Wolf Creek. Lower Campus: Thorn Football Field, Colonial Apartments, Carnegie Alumni Center, Rainbow Bridge, Fire Pit, Tennis Courts, and Sand Volleyball Court.

houses 208 upperclassmen. Apartments for upperclassmen who would like a real world experience and personal independence with 2-3 roommates. Each apartment has a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, single bedroom, and a central living room.

The Quad: built by the same firm that planned Central Park in NYC and the Washington D.C. Mall.

Built in honor of Samuel Harbison. The Chapel was built during the Great Depression and when Harbison's sons ran out of funds to construct this beautiful building, they moved their families into a smaller home to raise enough money to complete the structure. This is just one example of the college's commitment to financial stewardship. All the buildings on campus follow this same philosophy and are built debt-free (funds raised for each stage/process of the construction) to contribute to the lower tuition rates and costs of attendance.

To encourage a Christian environment, Grove City College requires all students to attend sixteen chapels per semester. There are over 50 opportunities to attain this requirement. Chapel is held Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-9:50AM and Sunday Vespers at 6:30PM. Chapel speakers range from local pastors, national speakers, athletic teams, mission trip (ICO and Redbox) students, choirs, and more. GCC does not offer Sunday morning services to encourage their students to search among the many different denominational churches in the area and be involved in that community.

The College is very serious about its commitment to Christian principles. Faith is intentionally integrated into all areas of campus life (academic, social, etc.).

This is the second newest building on campus (2013) and was named after our current chairman of the board of trustees, David Rathburn. This building houses all of our full-time Christian Ministries staff; it is also available for meetings, Bible studies, even personal quiet time (prayer room). Inner City Outreaches, Red Box Mission Trips, FCA, CRU, DRIVE, Intervarsity, etc.

Mary Anderson Pew was the wife of Joseph Newton Pew (first President of Board of Trustees) and this building was constructed in 1950. MAP houses the women's residence halls in South, West, and North. West and South house upperclassmen women in suites; North houses most of our freshmen women. You can see one of two of our dining halls to your right (I'll explain more about the cafeterias and meal plans later in the tour when we visit the other cafeterias).

This lobby is open until midnight for women and men. South Recreation Lounge is below us and is decorated like a retro lounge fitted with a full kitchen, TVs, ping pong tables, a juke box, and vending machines. In addition, the women's laundry room is downstairs (they have washers and dryers on every hall as well). This lounge is one of my favorite places on campus because it is a great place to come and just flashback to the past and imagine what Grove City was like years ago.

To your right you will find Old Map, a dining room used for special occasions. Until 1972, women and men ate separately and this dining room was actually the women's dining room. Now this room is used for Dessert Theatre, Trays Up Lunches, Language Tables, Speakers, etc.

1971 and 1981 respectively. These are both upperclassmen women's residence halls. 2 women per room and shared bathrooms. Mix of independent and group housing.

1931. Contains classrooms and laboratories for the Physics department and a small number of Biology and Chemistry classes. This building houses research labs including a DNA lab, inorganic synthesis lab, a nanotech lab, and an optics lab.

The newest building since 2013. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Hall is a 68,000 square foot, state of the art facility designed to be conducive to hands-on research. The new building offers expansive laboratory and study spaces that foster opportunities for collaborative interaction, similar to what students will find in the workplace.

The building is just the first phase of a 2-phase building project for science, engineering, and mathematics. For the second phase, Rockwell Hall of Science will be torn down and an expanded building will take its place.

The building houses dual purpose classrooms/ laboratories for biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and computer science, two conference rooms for small group meetings and seminar-style classes, a lecture hall with seating that facilitates small group active learning.

The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the atrium are constructed from SAGE glass, which automatically dims in bright sun to reduce sun glare. A skylight provides light to the entire building.

PLC - 1953/1988. GCC has 19 varsity sports (10 women, 9 men) also Co-Ed Varsity Cheerleading. Grove City College is a member of NCAA Division III and the President's Athletic Conference (PAC). This building houses the Arena, Intramural Room, two pools, racquetball courts, dance studio, fitness center, and bowling alleys. The Hall of Fame was established in 2007 to honor those athletes that have achieved a high level of athletic excellence during their career at GCC. (Dr. Jewell) We have apporximately 480 student athletes. Approx 320 club sport participants. Academics come first and coaches will adjust practices.

Varsity women's volleyball team and men's and women's basketball teams. Opening convocation, and various big events are held here.

Many of the varsity team coaches' rooms are located on this hall representing the availability and willingness of the coaches to interact with their athletes and not unapproachable.

GCC has an extensive intramural program - nearly 70% of students are active in the intramurals. IN 2013 GCC was ranked second in IM participation by The Princeton Review. (Volleyball, soccer, Euchre, Quidditch, etc.) Orientation Board holds many of their events here. Explain OB. The IM room is also used for tennis, volleyball, other athletic sports, social activities like dances, Org and Career Fairs. Indoor track

2 pools - Recreational and Competitive. The Competitive Pool is designed for the GCC Varsity Swimming/Diving Teams and Water Polo Teams. The Recreational Pool is designed for everyone (hours are posted).

There is a fitness/training lab located inside the Aerobic Center for this major. The Aerobic Center is open to athletes/non-athletes. The College is always striving to update the machines for our active students.

The CSO mission is to assist and equip students in realizing and pursuing God's calling for their lives. The CSO strives to equip students with job searching skills that can be used for a lifetime. The GCC CSO was ranked 16th (2014) in the nation for \"Best Career Services\" by PRinceton Review in the Best Colleges editions. For the Class of 2014, 95% of the graduates had a job or were attending grad school with six months. CSO staff meets individuallys with students as they mentor students.

Renamed from Student Activities Center after Mr. and Mrs. Ed Breen in 2004 (donated 5.5 million to college). GeDunk: \"grab and go\", pizza, bistro. Crimson Cash: program available to students (and/or parents) to add money online at MyGCC to your ID card to pay for your food. Meal plans: Students may also choose to use their meal plans for breakfast, lunch, and dinner here at the Gee. There is a specific menu and offereing for students and they can simply swipe their ID card. SAC open 24/7 Commuter Lounge and Locker room Great Room (lounge where talks and other events take place) The College Bookstore: textbooks and memorabilia Mailroom: students keep the same box number all four years. Office of Student Life and Learning: This office is focused on student development and is home to our Resident Directors and Resident Assistants. Office of Multicultural Recruiting and Retention: enhance diversity on campus. Manages and contributes to the development and preservation of a diverse and inclusive campus community.

This building is home to the Calderwood School of Arts and Letters. This is the main academic building for general education classes, Humanities core classes, and specifically where most students have their major classes.

Our humanities core is focused on creating a well-rounded student who is not only learning and experiencing their own majors in and out of their classroom, but they are also learning about Western Civilizations, Biblical Revelations, Civ Arts, Speculative Mind, etc.

Our most popular majors with classes in HAL are Business, Elementary Ed, English, Communication Studies. Many of our faculty members' offices are located at the end of the hall. These offices are set up like a suite with communal lounges for the student's convenience and to display how approachable our professors are. (personal story about Dr. Hinton)

We do not have graduate students or TAs to teach classes. All the professors teach their classes. Average class size is 25 and student to faculty ratio is 15:1 - very personalized teaching at GCC. The professors are friendly and know their students by name and strive to not only engage their students in the classroom, but also outside the classroom.

Named after J. Howard Pew. We have five different music majors and a music minor. You do not have to be Music major to participate in many of our music related opportunities.

The department offers an Art Minor which includes Studio Art and Art History courses.

Features the College's second dining hall - Basic Dining privileges: 3 meals a day, seven days a week. Bon Apetite provides an excellent Salad/Sandwich Bar, Pizza/Pasta Bar, Homestyle, Stirfry Station, Wrap it Up, Dessert Bar, Drinks Station, and Grille. The dining halls have different operating hours and students can choose a dining hall of their choice. Bon Appetit has a nutritionist for any student's special needs (allergies, organic options).

The WSAJ (91.1) Radio Station is located at the north end of the TLC. Broadcasting started in July 25th, 1919. Production Print Services, A CS Lab, a 250 seat auditorium, The Help Desk. Every full-time student is issued a technology package: high-end Tablet PC, accessories, backpack, and all-in-one printer. This computer is property of the College but the student can use this equipment as they please. Ownership of the equipment is transferred upon graduation as a full-time student.

The library is open 104 hours a week. The library has over 140,00 books on hand and subscriptions to over 84,000 journals. There are two floors of circulating books stacks and students will often study at the tables in the Reference Areas or the desks in the stacks.

Built in honor of Dr. Creig Hoyt who was a dean of the College for many years. Unique 4 year, ABET accredited engineering degrees. This is different from the \"3:2\" co-op program that is common at some colleges. There is 8,000 square feet of lab space, including labs for mechanical systems, materials testing, controls, power systems, and more. You may return and walk through the hallways to see the posters in the hallways that highlight past capstone design projects and other technical topics of importance to engineering students.

Nursing staff on duty weekdays and weekends. Professionally trained health counselors are also available in Zerbe to support mental and spiritual growth in our student body.

Built in honor of Isaac Ketler - founder of GCC; houses upperclassmen men in suites. Ketelr Recreational Lounge includes: foosball, a full kitchen, pool tables, pingpong tables, and video games. Open 24 hours.

Completed in 1995. Houses most of our freshmen men; the rest will be in Hicks Dorms. This lobby is co-ed until 12AM.

Single sex; intervisitation (\"throughout the week you are able to have your own privacy and develop meaningful relationships in your hall with your roommates\"); RAs and RDs (each freshman hall is supervised by Resident Assistants. All students who are working with the Student Life and Learning Office in the residence halls are RAs. RDs are professionals hired by SLL.

Memorial is an all men's residence hall. This room is a show room only. It is set up to reflect both a male room and female room. We do not have co-ed housing. All of the furniture is movable. Roommate Finder Small refrigerators, microwaves, televisions, DVD players, carpets are permitted. Hot plates, toasters, and toaster ovens are not allowed.
