Describe why teamwork is important in schools. Teamwork is a fundamental and effective way of supporting the development of the school. Educational process is the result of collaboration of teachers and staff members: they develop lesson plans and support children’s progress, improve the ability to good communication, which helps cooperation and integrates the environment. Teamwork in the school has many benefits: expanding knowledge and experience, runs smoothly to get outstanding achievements by working together, gets a variety of views and ideas, builds positive relationships and develop communications, upports and motivate one another Teamwork in school increases of work by reducing the risk of individual errors and help those, who have difficulty in performing tasks, to build our confidence. The people in the school share the workload to allocate appropriate roles and responsibilities. Teachers who teach in one class develop the curriculum and they are changing it to the needs of children. Often with the cooperation of teacher assistants, they are working with children in need of individual support such as reading, writing, maths. All staff in school work together in the enforcement of appropriate behaviour of children, they have to use suitable methods for this and often include parents in it. In this case, cooperation is very important.
Work
in a team is the most effective form of work through the use of knowledge, experience and motivation of staff members. It is a big opportunity for the development of school. (criteria 3. 2) Describe the purpose and objectives of the team in which you work. The main purpose of teamwork is: to share knowledge and experience to achieve better results with teaching and supporting children, to provide a safe emotional environment for children, to motivate children to use their full intellectual potential, to support their development, to support and respect one another, to give children with different needs appropriate support, o deliver interesting lessons. (criteria 3. 3) Describe own role and responsibilities and those of others in the team. My role as a teaching assistant is to take on tasks such as preparing the classroom for lessons and clearing up afterwards, that allow the teacher to concentrate on teaching.
To support pupils with particular individual needs, sometimes my role is to work one to one, while others work in small groups or work with one of these groups. The teacher is not able to give every pupil individual attention, assistants provide essential support to the pupils and the lead teacher. My responsibilities also include: upervising creative activities (e. g. when the children use scissors), giving support to pupils (individually or groups) who need to finish a particular task, helping children to learn through play offering support and understanding to those who are upset, setting up equipment for the teacher, supervising sports events. The role is one to be enjoyed, working alongside a teacher supporting them and the children. (criteria 3. 4)
Describe
the importance of respecting the skills and expertise of others practitioners. that activities can be relevantly allocated, to learn from their experience, to know where to go for help and support, o build good relationship and teamwork, this is the part of professionalism. It is important to respect the skills and expertise of other staff as different staff bring different skills to the team. It is impossible for a person to get all the skills. So sharing skills help us to give better work. Every member of staff in the school has a particular skill or area of expertise, so other people working in school who are not so skilled in a particular area can turn to their colleagues for advice and help. All staff together make a comprehensive and cohesive team and can support one another accordingly.
