The authors’ main argument is about the radicalization of some people in the community based on color, poor, immigrants, same-sex couples (Trans people) and the queer are discriminated by the society. He is against this discrimination and advocates a better and equal society whereby every individual is treated with respect and equity (Battle, 2005, 412). Moreover, institutions should adopt policies that are non-discriminative to certain kinds of persons when offering jobs. The people should have adequate wages that are non-oppressive.

The author uses examples to explain his argument, he says that shift in priorities over the years has changed the intended purpose of such groups to fight for the human rights.
