With this era and age, there are endless responsibilities for parents such that they may not have enough time to spend a whole day or so with their kids. Therefore, parents have to find means and ways of babysitting and taking care of their kids especially when they are on work duties or other day-to-day activities.

In an infancy setting, there are two major options for a parent withy an infant and they lack all the time required to stay and care for their kids. These options are taking the kid to a licensed child care center or home-based care. According to (Proverbs 22:6),” Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old he will not depart from it”. Therefore the parents have a duty to choose the best child care for their children.

Previous studies have shown that the effects of a child care that a kid goes through have the long-term and short-term effects (American Psychological Association, 2000). Toddlers receiving substandard child care tend to be self-regulated post-schooler, while infants who receive quality healthcare tend to do well academically both in kindergarten and beyond. In a brief description, home-based child care involves taking care of the child in their homes by relatives, that is, aunts and grandparents; or the home of an unrelated person such as a babysitter. On the other hand, out-of-home/licensed child care involves profit or non-profit centers offering child care services for parents at a fee (Young, 2002). over whether between the licensed childcare and; or home-based care; which offers the best values to the toddlers who are growing.

Many behavioral scholars believe that both have equal pros and cons to the later behavior and performance of kids later in their life both as adolescents and adults. On a general point of view, the choice of a child care system depends on the programs offered, the quality or education level of caregivers on handling kids, or the particular needs of the toddler and the family. Based on the view that both licensed and home-based care have their pros and cons in equal measure, it is the interest of this paper to determine which of the two is better for raising a young child. The idea in this paper is to determine the child care system that offers the highest value especially in the future academic performance of the kid.

Overview

The research paper intends to make conclusive end based on the benefits analyses of the two child care systems, that is, home-based and out-of-home. The home-based system has several advantages.

First, home-based provides a home-like environment for raising the toddler. The system offers a secure bond between the kid and the caregiver thus the child is likely to obtain the best values from the caregiver. In the system, there is strong child interaction since it allows for kids with varying age-groups. Lastly, the caregiver becomes part of the family and thus charges low tuition. On the part of out-of-home based child care, there are potentially trained caregivers who understand the needs of the toddlers (Loeb, 2007).).

The school-like environment in out-of-home care offers the best preparations

for kids to adapt to kindergarten. Also, the system has a rich education curriculum for the children enhancing language development and literacy. Kids in this system develop strong socialization skills with teachers and other kids. The children can develop interests in extra circular activities like soccer, or music which is crucial for kids’ development. Lastly, the kids can develop technology appliance skills through iPods or computers which they may not access at home. A comprehensive analysis of the advantages of the two child care system is meant to offer collectively conclusive findings of the best option for the two systems.

Statement of purpose

(Psalm 34:11) says, ‘Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD’. Abiding by this structure, research has indicated that a child’s care system significantly affects the performance and the behaviors of the child from Kindergarten up to higher levels of education. Kids who receive the highest quality of tend to perform much better than kids who received poorly coordinated child care during their toddler stages. The primary purpose of this paper is therefore to determine the o child care system that will offer the best value for the toddlers in their life. Long-term and short-term effects of home-based and out-of-home child care will enable parents to choose the most viable childcare option for their kids.

Research Question

The fundamental question for the research paper is; what childcare system offers the best value for toddlers regarding academic performance and child development? Proverbs 1:8 says, ‘Hear, my son, your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching; ‘Parents should be able to determine the best system for

kids.

The research paper should be able to provide a comprehensive answer to this question. The answer to this question should be kind enough to guide parents on making the optimal decision on their kids’ care.

Hypothesis

Research findings in this paper will be able to show the best childcare system based. The conclusions should be based on whether the best methods offer the best foundation for child development and performance or not.

However, the research findings could also give indifferent results in determining the best childcare system. By getting appropriate hypothesis, parents are able to raise good kids as (Joel 1:3, Tell your sons about it, And let your sons tell their sons, and their sons the next generation) says

Research Methodology

Various data collection methods will be used:

  1. Interviews-various licensed caregivers and home babysitters will be interviewed to determine the programs or curriculum (if any) that they use on the toddlers. The education levels of the caregivers will also be noted. 5 Child development experts will be interviewed to give expert advice on the two childcare systems.
  2. Observation-I will attend out-of-home care centers and observe the activities of the day in 20 schools. I will also observe the age-groups of the toddlers to determine how sociable they are.
  3. Questionnaires will be used to various parents to determine their opinions on the two childcare systems. The caregivers will also be given questionnaires to determine the number of kids they attend on average together with the related information.
