1. Give your definition of OT as you describe it to your family and friends. How has this definition evolved since the start of the semester?

Occupational Therapy help people participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Occupational therapy could help children with disabilities to participate in school and in social situations, help people recover from injuries or regain skills, and help people experiencing physical and cognitive changes. My personal definition has not changed over the course of the semester. It has only made me understand Occupational Therapy more.

Eleanor Clark Slagle was one of five founding members that created the national professional organization. "Slagle served in every major elective office and was also elected secretary for 14 years." Her biggest accomplishment was the care of mentally ill and the inclusion of habit training in her treatment.
