Compressions Airway Breathing

Push hard and push fast on center of patient's chest Rate at least 100/minute Depth of at least 2

open airway using head-tilt chin lift

2 slow, full breaths after each 30 compressions Initially 1 breath every 5-6 seconds Established airway every 6-8 seconds (asynchronous to compressions) 10-12 breaths per minute

1.Call code 2. start CPR 2 minutes, IV, O2 3. Check rhythm If VT/VF - defibrillate Monophasic defibrillator - 360 J Biphasic defibrillator - 150 J (Default setting) or 200 J If Asystole - continue CPR

Epinephrine 1 mg IV every 3-5 minutes Amiodarone - 300mg IV bolus - 1st dose 150 mg IV bolus - 2nd dose

Epinephrine 1 mg IV every 3-5 minutes Treat the cause H's & T's

Magnesium 1-2 g in D5W over 5 - 60 min IV push Magnesium drip 0.5 -1g /hr

1. Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) 2. Optimize ventilation and oxygenation Maintain O2 saturation > 94% May have advanced airway 3. Treat hypotension IV bolus Vasopressor infusion Consider treatable causes 12-Lead ECG 4. Therapeutic hypothermia Pts. Cooled to 32°C to 34°C for 12 to 24 hours Continuously monitor patient's core temperature 5. Percutaneous coronary intervention Cardiac catheterization and PCI 6. Optimize function and perfusion Maintain hemodynamic stability Organ perfusion
