Treatment includes People from the Client's Social Network (often a large group, including family, friends and neighbors) as well as a team of therapists that come together to solve the client or family problem. Treatment consists of six phases: retribalization, polarization, mobilization, depression, breakthrough, and exhaustion-elation.

Destructive patterns within family relationships create a family crisis.

Broaden the context of treatment beyond the nuclear family to provide greater resources.

Therapy team consists of two-three individuals, Active, Enabler, Supportive. Therapy is short-term.

Confrontation, Tasks, Rituals, Encounter Group Exercises, Psychodrama, Us of action instead of affect to move beyond despair.
