The Marine Corps core values are very important. Honor, courage and commitment are part of each and every marine’s dedication to his or her corps. The Marine Corps core values are the corner stone of the Marine Corps and have been passed on through generation to generation through classes and through example. They are the guiding principles and beliefs that give us strength, influence our attitudes, and regulate our behavior. They must be displayed not only on the field of battle but off as well.

We failed our fellow marines in this aspect by not encouraging them enough to complete the training course and allow them to fail.

The second of the Marine Corps core values is courage. Courage is honor in action. It is moral strength to go above and beyond what is required of us as marines. It means to take a stand for what is right in spite of adverse consequences. It is what enables us to lead not only our junior marines but our peers as well. The last of the Marine Corps values is commitment. Commitment is the total dedication to the Marine Corps, to our country and our service to both, as well as our fellow marines, to not failing ourselves our marines and the mission on hand. Commitment is a combination of self-determination and a relentless dedication to excellence. The term once a marine always a marine is an example of the commitment to the Marine Corps that each and every marine must possess. We failed the training in this aspect by not being committed to our fellow marines to make sure they succeeded or to ourselves for failing.

We also showed a lack of commitment to the mission by not having one hundred percent completion as a class. The three Marine Corps core values: honor, courage, and commitment make up the bedrock of the character of each individual marine. They are the foundation of the Marine Corps, and you can’t have either of the three without the other two. The three corps values handed down from generation to generation by the examples of marines throughout history , and it’s the three marine corps core values that make the marine corps the most respected and successful fighting force on earth.
