College is an institution that mostly has people of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. Such environment allows one to sharpen their social and communication skills because they are exposed to different cultures. This is remarkable for the fact that one does not want to be seen as ignorant towards an individual culture.

According to Arnett (2011), school permits rising grown-ups to experiment with an extensive variety of conceivable ways to their future … it's justified regardless of the time because the advantages last a lifetime. “As students explore different fields they become aware of which path they should follow. For many students, it may be the beginning of their explorations thus leaving college with a positive impact of having an understanding of who they are and what they can do best. College education offers the students with an excellent opportunity to learn specific courses of their choice and end up getting a suitable job. By getting education one can be able to change their wealth status and decide which path suits they best as they explore and experience new things during the period, they are in college. College education is compared to a stepping stone to becoming a much responsible person because it a time where one is left on their own and given the freedom to do wherever one would want to do without anyone following them up.

Entirely different from high school in that one has to juggle their own time and finances and the deadline

has to be met just like in the real world. In spite of all these advantages that come with college education there are some disadvantages that accompany the college they may include: In the current years, a college education is getting more expensive than it ever was. Back in the year 2001, it would have taken a middle-class family less than 25 percent of their income to attend college. Today it takes about 40 per cent of their earnings to go to college. This shows that college education is becoming more expensive and unaffordable to average families. It is also becoming so unfortunate that most individuals cannot attend a college of their choice simply because of the high cost.

Thus most students end up doing courses which have never been their passion but financial constraints limit them. Most college students use the government loan money to educate themselves in college and by the time they are completing their studies they have massive amounts of pending loans which they are required to start repayment after college. They are not guaranteed of good jobs right after graduation since it is becoming hard for fresh graduates to land themselves into good jobs since there is too much competition due to the increasing accessibility to a college education. Even if they get a job, it may not even be related to what they undertook in college.

They need to accept any occupation that comes to their direction to be able to repay the debt incurred by their college education and also gain some money to meet their basic needs. Many college students feel that college is not worth it since they

do not learn what they would want to get to depend on their major. Instead, they waste a lot of time taking classes that do not relate in any way with their majors but only take these classes to meet the general education requirements. Students end up wasting a lot of time on courses which are of less benefit rather than spend the time studying their majors.
