I realized that every culture has its own sets of rules, languages, attire and a way of life I realized that it wasn’t only my culture that was like this but many others such as Chinese, German, Russian, etc. I started to learn more and studied my culture more often. While on this new path of discovery I learned that the main languages of my culture were French, Esu, and the broken English. As for America where I believe there are two major languages which are the proper English and the broken English or slang. Every culture makes alterations to its languages so that it’s easier to speak and to understand.

In Should English Be the Law, Robert D. King states that English wasn’t made the official language of the U.S till 1996. I found this very interesting because English is the most spoken language in America. The fact that it took them this long to put it in paper is astonishing. The broken English in America is a lot different from the broken English in other cultures. In my culture, “what’s wrong with you” would be translated in to “nah waity” in broken English. In slang it would simply be “wats up wit u.” although it has the same meaning and sounds the same, it’s different because of the wording and the way it’s written on paper. What does this say about America cultures? I believe that it states that America isn’t any different from other cultures, it has its own culture but it is very similar to others.
