In a song and in a book what grabs our attention and drag us in for more is a great hook. Time keeps everything moving forward for the better but, in music time is not helping it is making dumber and dumber. Songs nowadays are not worth been in the category of music they are mostly about sexual intercourse, drugs, or random dumb topics. Yet there is an American singer-songwriter/record producer who is out of this world. Bruno Mars. He rose from his childhood, took the path to success, and wrote songs with so much meaning.
Bruno Mars’s real name is Peter Gene Hernandez. He was born in October 8, 1985 on Honolulu Island but raised on Waikiki. Bruno is one of six children from Peter Hernandez and Bernadette San Pedro Bayot (Bernie). At the
...age of two his father nickname “Bruno”, because of his resemblance to a wrestler name Bruno Sammartino. Later on he got “Mars” when girls said that he lived in different planet and he responded “Well I guess I’m From Mars”. As a child he was surrounded by musicians and instrumental music he got passionate about singing.
He was known in the island as the Elvis impersonator. Mars attended Roosevelt High school where he and some friends of his formed a band known as The School Boys, they sang oldies hits. In 2003 at the age of 17 he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a musical career A friend introduced him to a songwriter name Phillip Lawrence. “Everything’s good right now. It’s really paying off because now my songs are on the radio. It took
me a while to get it, but when I got it, I think I got it right. And I’m very proud on how my songs are representing me as an artist”
Every song has a meaning some of them actually do make sense others just do not. Bruno has many fabulous songs on many different topics such as love, friendship, helpful, and drowsiness. One hit of his is “Grenade” “... It’s a heartbreaking, heartbreak song, and I think everyone can relate to that. You’re so in love with this woman and you don’t understand, ‘What I’m I doing wrong? What am I not giving to you? I’ll go as far as putting a bullet in my brains for you, and why can’t I get that kind of love in return?" “Billionaire” is about him closing his eyes and dreaming what can he do if he was a billionaire.
He would have luxury but he will help people and maybe grant someone their last wish. The most friendly song sang by him is “Count on Me” he is saying to his best friend that he is willing to search for him/her in the sea if they get lost and that they both could trust each other. “The Lazy” song represents that everyone needs to slow down a while and take a break to do nothing because they been working so hard.
The most romantic song of him is “Just the way you are” the song and video is of him singing to the girl he loves that she does not need to change a thing about her because she is perfect to him
just the way she is. Bruno mars is not alone on making great music they are other artists making great music in this world few of them is Maroon 5, Train, Coldplay, Skillex, and Three Days Grace. In fact good music is consider music that teaches or says something meaningful.
Srillex doesn’t has many words in the songs but the main message is the fast beat, the beat says that everything has a beat including your life; so make your life exciting. Coldplay is a band that lyrics are so meaningful and deep such as the song “The Scientist”. The lyrics make you say, “WOW”. Three Days Grace is mostly about painful things in life such as a break up. Even though it sounds that the type of music is sad it is mostly telling people to not give up in life just for something that brought you down.
In the song “Time of Dying” the message is simple life can be a nightmare or it can be a dream but just do not die easily, if something is dragging you down fight and get up. In conclusion, the man from Mars is an amazing singer. He followed his dreams on been a singer, not so many people do something to fulfill their dreams. All the songs he wrote have meaning. Good music is still alive and probably would not die not at least for a long time. Whatever type of music you like whether it is rap, techno, funk, or etc. just know that the artist has a story on how they got to be an artist.
