Degrees Types

Associate of Arts degree, two years of full time classes, usually at a community college

Associate of Science degree, two years of full time classes, usually at a community college, requires more science than an AA

Bachelor of Arts degree, a 4 year (full time) college degree. May be acquired in only 2 year after attaining an AA or AS, but AA or AS is not required.

Bachelor of Science Degree, a 4 year (full time) college degree. Requires more science than a BA degree. May be acquired in only 2 year after attaining an AA or AS, but AA or AS is not required.

Master of Business Administration, graduate degree. Can be a general MBA, although many specialize in marketing, accounting, or non-profit management. Must obtain an undergraduate degree first.

A degree earned after a BA or BS or other undergraduate degree. The undergraduate degree is required first before going on to graduate work.

Any degree earned in college that is a BA,BS, BFA, or similar degree.

Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, a 4 year (full time) college degree. Requires 2/3 subject area classes and 1/3 general education, the opposite of the requirements for a BA/BS. May be acquired in only 2 year after attaining an AA or AS, but AA or AS is not required.

Master of Arts, graduate degree. Must obtain an undergraduate degree first such as a BA, BS, or BFA

Master of Science, graduate degree. Must obtain an undergraduate degree first such as a BAA, BS, or BFA, requires more science.
