Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy concerned with identifying that criteria that are used to understand, judge, and defend judgements about works of art. Aestheticians share a concern for the study of arts with critics and art historians.

You must know two things: What to look for and how to look for. Criteria means to gain advice.

The Art Criticism operations enables you to examine and respond to a variety of visual art forms with a more critical eye as for Art History you have to determine who made them, as well as when, where, had, and why the painting was made.

1) Symmetrical Balance means a formal balance in which two halves of a work are identical; one half mirrors the other half. 2) Asymmetrical Balance is more informal and takes into account such qualities as hue, intensity, and value in addition to size and shape. 3) Radical Balance occurs when objects are positioned around center point.

A carefully determined blend of harmony and variety is essential to the success of almost any work of art. Both principles must be taken into account during the creative process.

Movement is also used to direct the viewer's attention to a center of interest, or work are noted. This measurement is achieved through placement of elements so that the eye follows a certain path, such as the curve of a line, the contours of a shape, or the repetition of certain colors, textures, or shapes.

Dry media are those media that are applied dry; they include pencil, charcoal, crayon, and chalk or pastel.

All of the paints are composed of three basic ingredients: Pigment, binder, and solvent.

The difference is that etching has a fine needle to draw an image through a protecting coating. Then the plate is placed in acid, which bites-or etches- the lines of the metal. Where the ground has been removed, as for engraving the lines are cut directly into the metal plate with a burin, or engraving tool. The lines made in this way are more pronounced and clear the fine lines produced by the etching process.

When the drawing is completed, it is chemically treated with a nitric acid solution. This makes the sections that have not been drawn or resistant to the printing ink. The surface is dampened with water and then inked. the greasy printing ink sticks to the equally greasy crayoned areas but is repelled by the wet, blank areas. Finally, the surface is covered with paper and run through a press to transfer the image.

These include decisions regarding subject, light conditions, and point of view, and the creative work done by the photographer in developing and printing.

Artist can use a graphics tablet with a stylus, or a mouse connected to the computer, in the same way they would a pencil or paint brush.

Subtractive sculpture is the oldest from of sculpture and involves removing material, as in wood. Caring or stone sculpture to create a finished work. Additive sculpture is the process of creating sculpture by adding materials to create the work.

The melted down metal or other liquid substance is poured into a mold to harden. This method allows the artist to duplicate an original sculpture done in way, clay, plaster, or some other material.

It's the earliest and simplest methods of building with stone is the post and lintel system, which involves placing a horizontal beam or lintel across the open two posts or space between two posts or other vertical supports.

The most important of stone is the lack of tensile strength, the capacity of a material to withstand binding. stone, of course, does not bend. it can only span a narrow space before it cracks in the middle.
