1 point describe historical continuity and change over time 1 point explain the reasons for historical continuity and change over time

1 point shows how a development was similar and different to events that preceded and/or followed it 1 point explain the extent to which the development was similar and different from the events that preceded and/or followed it

1 point uses specific and relevant evidence to address the topic 1 point fully and effectively substantiates argument/thesis with specific evidence (broad range of evidence w/ analysis and explanation justifies thesis or argument)

can have errors as long as it does not detract from the overall quality as long as the historical content used to advance the argument is accurate
