Why AlphaSights?

•First the Awards and Recognition were more than enough to peek my interest. A few of them stuck out to me and made applying to AlphaSights an easy decision. -AlphaSights was on the Crain's list of fastest growing companies in NY with 1,273% growth over 3 years which shows amazing opportunities. -The Acumen Partnership where AlphaSights helps the non-profit investment fund for free. I am passionate about philanthropy and having parallel interest is a huge plus when considering different companies. I could continue with the awards but there are other reasons. •I love working with people and the Associate position seems like an incredible opportunity to create win-win-win situations and give me valuable experience. • I love the Business Model. -I had always thought about how to compete against corporations and hedge funds but working with them to create a mutually beneficial situation is a recipe for success

What does AlphaSights do?

• AlphaSights is a global information services firm approaching 300 employees. • Clients approach AlphaSights looking for a particular bit of information necessary to their business. • AlphaSights connects these clients to specific industry experts and facilitates their communication so the client can quickly gain the accurate information needed to conduct their business. • These clients are usually business leaders including but not limited to investment banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, and corporate decision makers. • The Associate's role is to connect these clients to the known industry leaders and to research new professionals who could be contacted. • One of my favorite intangibles that I discovered while doing my due diligence the company is that AlphaSights will do whatever it takes make the connection happen between the client and the expert and that is the type of tenacity that I have as well.

• I believe I would be a great fit for AlphaSights • I have the key personality traits you guys are looking for like being a competitor and driven • I have the superb communication skills necessary to thrive office setting or anywhere else and have no fear to initiate a conversation in person or on the phone • The skills that aren't as polished will get there do to the type of work • I am looking to start my career as a young professional and the reviews in addition to my own research make AlphaSights seem like the perfect place to start

Why did you choose your major?

• In the age old question for which came first, Economics or Finance the answer for me is Economics. • I've always loved business, the stock market, and the financial new but originally I didn't know what area to focus on • I took an Econ class my senior year of high school and found it fascinating and fairly easy so when deciding a major I went with what I enjoyed. • However, my guidance

If you didn't have this job, what other jobs would you be interested in?

• Financial services, sales, other client related positions. • I enjoy working with clients and completing the best work I can for them. I like talking to people on the phone and getting to know them to address their needs. • In sales I feel there is more of a competitive drive and I am a competitor at heart. • I think in the sales and negotiation industry communication skills are a necessity and that is one of my best traits. Hone sales skills • I want to generate revenue for the company I work for and these types of positions would give me the best shot to do so while taking advantage of my particular skill set.

If you had to choose a set base salary or a 100% commission based, which would you choose?

• Commission based • I'm a risk taker and I understand the ramifications of having a bad year • I'm a motivated individual and I believe I could make more in that setting. • I like the idea of a reward for hard work because hard work and earning your money out communication with clients and commercial success.

What are you looking for in a company?

• I want to work in a growing competitive environment. • I want to work in a place where personal skills are a necessity and allow for great relationships with clients but also great relationships around the office. • I like a fast paced setting • But most of all I want a company that's going to push me, make me a better communicator and employee and allow me chances to grow into leadership roles as I become more comfortable.

Well rounded. Always been involved in different things. Curious in the classroom. Intellectually I enjoy taking rigorous discussion based classes to challenge my beliefs and myself. Out of the classroom, I'm a friend. Personal relationships are really important to me and I've been lucky to meet many of my best friends at Georgetown. I'm also a competitor. I don't like losing. I enjoy pushing myself to succeed and find that my best results come through this competitive nature.

What was your first job?

• Senior year in high school • Youth basketball coach for my town's AAU program for 7th and 8th graders. • Given to me by my varsity basketball coach. • I was able to connect with the kids on the team and teach them about playing basketball at the next level was all about. • Its intimidating for middle schoolers to be playing in front of the varsity coach so I acted as an intermediary for him, getting to know the kids personally and giving them confidence and instruction going into high school.

Long term goals... Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

• Being a position of leadership. I want to move up in the company I work for. • Be confident in working autonomously • I want to be in New York City. Home to me. Close to my family. Most comfortable there. • Also feeling like where I am working is a home. Noticeable in the office. A part of a bigger picture. • Be happy • With the expectations and opportunities available for advancement with hard work and consistent leadership at AlphaSights, I would be on the right track for these goals here.

• Sometimes it is difficult for me to share responsibility • I'll end up doing everything to fix a problem instead of delegating more. • Took on a lot to fix club basketball. • Didn't ask the newer members because they had just joined the club. • I didn't want the club to appear as weak, and I thought I would have looked weak as well in the process. • Situation could have been finished earlier • Stress and work levels could have been lower had I reached out • Grown into incorporating more people after realizing this was a weakness • Now 6 people in various leadership with defined positions across 3 grades • Shared responsibility will help us run more efficiently

Risk you took

• GOPOP trip • Decided to complete a preorientation program where myself and six of my classmates went to Montana for a week to climb and camp in Glacier National Park • Never gone camping and had no history of climbing mountains home in suburbia • Also going to a school where I did not know anyone • Thought it would be a great opportunity to meet some new classmates and challenge myself and see a new part of the country. • Got to see beautiful landscape of America, make six new close friends before going to school, and challenge myself physically with 10 mile hikes and emotionally by easing myself into being away from home.

Worst grade you ever got

• In the second quarter of my sophomore year in high school I got a C+ in my math class. • I had always been in the advanced math in my grade and it had come second nature to me. • I thought I could get away with how easy math came to me and not study as hard as I should have for upcoming tests. • By the time I realized my mistakes the quarter was over and it was too late for my grade. I was sunk. • I used this C+ as motivation to turn around my approach to math and things that came easy to me. • I pushed myself harder in the classroom and now am well in the habit of making sure I understand and study up on all concepts. • I have never gotten that grade or below again.

Tell me about a defining experience? Describe a time you faced a challenge in a work, school, or team environment. How did you handle it? How did you demonstrate leadership?

Lost spot as a starter as a senior on the football team. This was a position I had wanted since I was in elementary school. Its a tradition in our town where everyone goes to the games so I had always admired the starters. Went and did my best on the scout team to prepare the starters for games. Learned how to deal with a loss but keep fighting. Didn't win spot back but won Spielvogal Award at the end of the season, coaches award for commitment.

have a great energy for things that interest me • Basketball and history in high school • Always keeping track of current events, Obama election, financial crisis, surge in Iraq, • Both interests led me to Georgetown • Here I was able to continue with my passion for basketball as I tried out and made the club team • This background influenced me into picking my major of International Politics, classes I take are international affairs, government, and history, where I am expected to and excel at analyzing and communication my ideas in discussions • I was able to apply myself in a real world scenario at my internship this summer where I honed my communication and research skills • Hoping to continue this is in a full time position

Describe a risk you chose not to take and why?

• I chose not to study abroad for a semester • Peer pressure to do so • Didn't want to give up a semester at Georgetown • Can travel later in life to many of these potential locations • Did a 3 week summer program in Florence to get the best of both worlds

Treaded line between right and wrong.

• In pickup basketball we call our own fouls. • With the game on the line I usually have the ball in my hands. • Therefore on a close shot if the ball doesn't go in for me I could call a foul and get another shot at it by getting the ball back. • And when it doesn't go in I definitely think about it in the first moments after it rolls out • But that wouldn't be playing the game the right way and I would be cheating myself

Biggest challenge

• My biggest challenge in college has been learning Arabic • Very rigorous language, learning new alphabet as a freshman in college while trying to get adjusted to a new world away from home • Had to be in my dorm room studying when others were out on Thursday nights • By the end of sophomore year I finally "got it" and began having comprehension and being able to engage in a non-structured conversation • Looking forward to taking my proficiency test at the end of the semester

• Syrian refugee crisis • As conditions have deteriorated in Syria refugee count has risen. • Other Gulf nations aren't taking them in • Seeking better hope by sailing across the Mediterranean into Europe • Germany and Austria have been the most open over the last week but they could be reaching a tipping point • Interesting to read about this in English on my own time but also in Arabic in my Arabic Media class

Biggest failure?
answer
Lost my cornerback position senior year. Still had to give it my all for the team on special teams. Felt like I let myself down cause it was something I looked forward to as a youngster in my town's program. I took away lessons on how to deal with defeat and the necessity of still giving my all for the team in a lesser role.

Describe your time at the Advanced Group

A place where I honed my communication and research skills as well as began formulating my sales skills. Different divisions within the small firm. Non-profit, lobbying, I worked for the political client section. Three main clients. Called people to rally them to come to fundraising events. Fundraised myself. Prepared bios and contact info for client call sessions where I took notes of the call. Committees project. How to excel in a professional day to day setting. Had confidence to have a personal relationship with the CEO. Was willing to volunteer for the hard tasks. Went to Staten Island for a day. Traveled to Harlem to check out a location for an event. Picked up checks on errands around the city.

Tell us about your work at Christie
answer
First experience in an office. Mostly cold calling voters reminding them of the primary initially and then the general election as the summer went on. Calling Democrats because Christie had to win some of them to win the election in a state with 700,000 more Democrats than Republicans. Learned how to communicate on the phone. Recommended events for the governor to attend throughout NJ. Small town events. Great at speaking in a small setting and connecting with people. Wanted an informed public. Released reports on each municipalities board members and general issues to highlight their community. Very objective.

Leadership. Turning around the program. New jerseys joined a league. 20 game season and tournaments. Scheduling and travel. Payments. Handled a lot. My peers were counting on me and I did not want to let them down.

Alpha Kappa Psi

Learned a lot of marketing skills as in marketing myself. Coed fraternity. Struck up great relationships. Homecoming last year. Keep in touch socially but also professionally. We have a facebook group and I facilitate employer event postings from past members as well as current members who just had internships. Specifically introduced my roommate outside of AKPsi to a senior who had a sales and trading full time position at Barclays. My roommate was able to then get an interview, an internship and now is going back as a full time analyst. Happy to facilitate a communication like that.
