When thinking of justice people think of the court system, a blindfolded woman holding a scale, and guilty/not guilty. Justice definitely involves concepts of right and wrong and people receive positive or negative sanctions based on their past performance. Social justice, however, maintains that all people deserve and should have access to the same rights and resources. Social Justice is all about equality. This core value is based on the view that everybody merits square with economic, political and social rights. Social justice is the point at which a social worker endeavors social change for the individuals who can't encourage themselves. Social workers plan to open the entryways of access and also opens the door for everybody, especially those in most noteworthy need. It's no
individuals announcing that they are social justice activists. Workers who complete social justice do this by helping those who do not have adequate access. Leveling the playing field on each level. Social injustice is the exact opposite. It is when total equals are treated differently, or situations when some unfair practices are being carried in the society. Examples of social justice include inadequate health care, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Usually, social justice addresses these problems but it also addresses other issues such as any social problem, educational expenses, and environmental injustice.

Although we have the same twenty-four hours in a day we are not granted the same opportunities as others. There are numerous factors that are put into effect when it comes to this such as race, the area you live, and your socioeconomic class.
We live in a nation today distorted by the perception of the people. The consensus that we live in the greatest nation in the world is not so much a feeling of nationalism as it is a foregone conclusion in the minds of millions of Americans. In this great nation, we still experience racism, discrimination, and other forms of injustice. Americans face injustice every day and it is not an issue that just sprung about. In the state of Alabama, injustice is an unspoken law that thrives for the unjust. In an area called The Black Belt, many injustices remain. Black Belt Strip the term was first used to designate a part of the country which was distinguished by the color of the soil. The specific area of the United States that possess this thick, dark, and naturally rich soil. Also, the name reigns from having a large population of African Americans throughout the Black Belt region. It is to designate the counties where the black people outnumber the white. The Black Belt citizens have been and continue to fight for justice.
In a small area in Perry County is a community that is a victim of social injustice. The environmental injustices that
the people of this community are facing have been issues for more than two decades. The town's air is toxic from coal ash and the water is undrinkable due to water waste. The article states that “Uniontown is one of the most egregious examples of environmental racism in the U.S., where a largely poor and Black community has had more than one polluting facility foisted upon them without recourse”. For years citizens in the black belt strip have been treated unfairly in the so-called “greatest nation”. In the previous hundred years, proof has mounted of a basic, dependable and direct correlation between proximity to environmental hazards and race and class. Low-salary African American communities are reliably more prone to be near dangers than more white, wealthier ones. The population of Uniontown stands at 2,329 individuals who are living in these conditions. With more than 80% of the community African American, there is a better chance of living next to hazardous institutions. A factor in some of the environmental crisis in the town is a cheese plant named Southeastern Cheese. In the late 90’s the factory was built and this processing plant incorporated in Uniontown.
