college athletes should be paid to participate in sports because of the revenue they provide for colleges by winning games and through the sale of their jerseys.

colleges make millions every year at the expense of the athletes. The athletes work hard every day to win games, ultimately increasing profit. The players have to mold their classes around their practice and game schedule, sometimes changing majors just to fit the schedule.

college athletes have to change their schedules to accomodate the practice schedule. some had to switch majors to fit in time for practice. The majority of college athletes wont go pro so changing majors will hinder their pursuit of a career after school.

schools make millions from their athletic programs. They profit from wins. They sell jerseys with the athletes' name on them but the athletes receive none of the profit from the sale of jerseys.

atheletes work hard for four years for the school. they dont deserve a large salary but anything would help. just enough for gas money or food would be suitable. Also, give them the profits from the jersey sales.

the counter argument would be that the students already are receiving a free education. my argument to that is that the athletes are being exploited for wins and nothing else. the university doesnt care about their class schedule they just want more wins, and money. The athletes that are not going pro need the salary to help jump start their life after college.

Big tournaments bri g in lots of money. All of this money goes to the universities and to the sponsors. Nothing goes to the athletes who are killing themselves out on the court and the field and giving entertainment to the world.

While the athletes should be school first, the grueling practices conflict with class schedules. Athletes have to chance their schedule, ultimately their major, just to make time for practice.

kevin ware suffered a brutal injury in the NCAA tournament. he hurt himself while the NCAA and Louisville used him to make money. All atheletes should receivea small salary for th four years of playing sports for the university. Then after the four years, have the option to go pro or attend college. That way the athletes who are not interested in school can go to the pros and the ones who want am education can use that garunteed admission and earn an education.

i need more examples of athletes that were exploited by their universities for profit. I have articles describing how people were exploited but no names.
