The first 4 relate to God (vertical focus) and the last 6 directly relate to others (horizontal)

Blessed are those who are persecuted

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30; Matt. 22:37; Deut. 6:5), "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31; Matt. 22:39; Lev. 19:18)

"There is no truth, only interpretations" This quote denies that both absolute truth and even personal truth exist. (Nihilism)

Plato is pointing up and Aristotle is pointing horizontally showing the different ways to interpret truth. Plato- Foundational truths that can be applied universally to all persons and all times regardless of context that especially relate to moral thought and understanding of reality from God Aristotle- truth is discerned through sensory experience of particular examples found in the world.

The way God reveals himself generally to all through what he has created, throughout the course of history, and in natural laws the commonly are discerned through scientific analysis

the concept that there is only one way to God or to pleasing God. Most religions are going to believe themselves right, or they would simply not exist.

concept that there are many ways to God, that one's own religion probably is not the whole story, and that other religions add to the full understanding. All religions say the same things or at least offer a piece of reality.

God doesn't answer why we are suffering but rather asks us to trust in God not our own understanding. God has already blessed us more than we can imagine by giving us life.

We often say that if God had been with us we would not have bad things happen but God is always with us. Also, God will raise us to new life in Heaven. Jesus says "Father I thank you that you have heard me...I say this for the benefit of those who are standing here" (John 11:41) we see that Jesus works the wills of God because he is God. Also, "Jesus wept" so we know Jesus feels just as we do.

Draws individuals to God and repent 7. Humble and closer to Christ 8. Look up and long for redemption 9. Brings people closer to Christ and his suffering 10. God is still aiming for ultimate good 11. God wants us to experience his amazing love

The testing of our faith produces perseverance so we may mature and complete.

The Christian defense of God's infinite goodness and power despite the presence of evil and suffering. Comes from Greek words for God and Justice.

If we never suffered we would not have to trust God or realize his amazing love & through our suffering, we are able to understand Jesus' suffering and sacrifice for us.

We should have the same mindset as Jesus who humbled himself then God exalted him so everyone will worship him and give glory to God.
