Veterans from WWI were promised a bonus in due time, and wanted to get their bonus early because of the crashing economy and rioted at the capital building and Hoover sent the military to stop them which made him less popular.

FDR passed tons of acts known as the alphabet soup acts due to congresses full support and in the first 100 days had passed 15 major bills that addressed bank failure, unemployment and the business slump.

Was President when the Great Depression started, and was passive, and thought that the government shouldn't spend money on citizens relief.

This was a tariff Hoover was advised not to approve, but it was anyway, and it led to other countries making tariffs on american goods which hindered us more.

FDR used the radio to his advantage and addressed the american public through the radio which gave citizens the feeling of a more personal relationship with FDR.

The Dust Bowl was a major drought that affected the great plains. It destroyed vegetation and because of how they grew their crops they were vulnerable to drought and erosion. This made it so the wind would blow away crops and create almost a sandstorm like setting which is why its called the dust-bowl.

This is one the acts that's with us today, it enacts minimum wage, overtime pay, and 40 hour work week.

John Keynes was an economist who changed the way we view the economy today, introducing things like the lows and highs of businesses cycle. The big idea he had that was disliked at first, was that the government had to spend money to stimulate the economy.

FDR won by one of the biggest landslides in history, as Hoover was unpopular for not fixing the depression. FDR had to wait until he was inaugurated which just left Hoover doing nothing for months while unemployment rose.

This act regulated the stock market and set rules for credit transactions and prevented stock sales by those with inside info.

This act protected worker unions and allowed unions to be formed. The act suppressed business previous practices of suppressing unions, such as firing workers for organized activities.

One of the acts that's with us today, this act created social security which created an old age pension and helped people who couldn't work as well as the disabled.

The Roosevelt Recession was a short recession that had increased inflation which would increase interest rates. 1.5 Million workers were laid off and this slowed the recovery process.

This was the idea that to protect the liberties of people that the government had to interfere and help the people to protect them from things like unemployment.

This act helped more than a million Americans keep their homes and changed the mortgage system.

This group opposed FDR's reckless spending and socialist reforms from the New Deal. They criticized FDR and called him a tyrant.
