conditions in which massage is inappropriate, unadvised and may be harmful to the the client

massage may be given only while avoiding the infected/area in question

condition is due to an injury that is less than 72 hours old pressure causes unwarranted pain the area is inflamed the area is confined to a small space that can be easily avoided the area presents an abnormal finding such as suspicious lumps, masses or moles

inflammation is widespread or if the condition is acute or exacerbated condition is due to an infectious agent or disease if the clients symptoms become more severe or any or no apparent reason client must 1st get ok from their doctor e.g. MS, Parkinson's condition represents a medical emergency
