Introduction

Development platforms are the result of human imagination, and are often influenced by previous great ideas. While requirements are the driving force behind discoveries, little attention has been given to the origins of these requirements. Somewhere between our needs and dreams, and the realities and potentials, lie the fundamental concepts that lead to significant breakthroughs. These are the discoveries that would not have been possible without these foundational elements.

The power-driven furnace not only stood as the sole method of producing Carborundum commercially, but it also revolutionized the aluminum industry by drastically reducing its price by 98 percent. Additionally, it completely transformed the steel industry. Another important aspect is the protection of sugar-generating plants.

-61). This innovation greatly improved the efficiency and supply of sugar manufacturing. Another significant discovery that revolutionized communication was wireless technology, pioneered by Marconi in commercial applications.

Dowe also mentions that, like the expansion of the World Wide Web, wireless technology was initially created to meet the needs of commerce. However, it has also indirectly contributed to social interaction. One technological advancement that improved the production of printed materials was the large rotary press, which was capable of producing a high volume of publications. The production process faced a bottleneck with the creation of printing plates. The Linotype and Monotype machines helped resolve this issue by providing a more efficient solution.

began producing the Model T in 1908, and it became widely popular by 1913 (Adgully,23-46). Charles Duryea created one of the first commercially successful petrol-driven vehicles in 1896.

The invention of the air-filled tire revolutionized individual transportation, similar to how the development of railways transformed locomotives. The credit for this innovation goes to John Dunlop and William C. Bartlet, who played significant roles in the advancement of car and bicycle tires.

The Linotype engine revolutionized printing by allowing publishers, mostly newspapers, to write and print text much faster and at a lower cost. This development was as significant as the discovery of the printing press itself, which had replaced the laborious process of handwritten rolls.
