Description of Othello as a Character and His Influence in My Life Essay Example
Othello is a character in Shakespeare’s literally tragedy ‘Othello’ who plays the role of the main character and portrays both the traits of prominence and weakness. In many aspects Othello grows from rank to rank in the military to being a powerful and honorable general in the armed force. As a matter of fact, the success of this character is an irony to many because he thrives in a foreign nation. Despite this fact, Othello depicts courage in all the military operations and intelligence is one of his strengths (Shakespeare). In this literally work, Shakespeare uses this character to bring charisma and power of command into effect as well as uncovering the astuteness needed in military endeavors. Moreover, this character is triuphatic in many aspects relating to his operations as a general in the military
.... To Othello, success is a daily vocabulary. However, in aspects of social living, this character is unsecure. He is unable to manage family affairs hence at some point his relationship is in a pinnacle of failure. It is through such episodes that the character depicts the trait of weakness. Furthermore, he allows the insecurities in his life ruin his journey to success.
There are many lessons that this character imparts into my life. A strong review how the character starts and how his final days are has a great influence into my life. As a matter of fact, it is worth accepting that Othello as a character influences my way of interaction with others and teaches me on the importance of being courageous and triumphalist in all my undertakings. This is because the above character help build a great reputation i
the society hence acquiring respect in the best way possible. It through his great reputation that he is able to convince his wife into marriage.
There other influence I receive from this character is that I am able to understand the dangers associated with having a series of success and allowing life insecurities dictate your ways of leaving. As a matter of fact, Othello’s inability to manage his family lands him into the pool of jealousy which- in the long run. Therefore the main lesson learn from this is that life is full of ups and downs and for individuals to success, they should major on building the best moments and belittling the downs.
The third influence that Othello imparts in my life is related to friendship. Throughout the Shakespeare’s work, Othello as a character is surrounded by friends whom to a greater extend he doesn’t understand their motives. If it were not for the friends surrounding him and their jealousy for his success, Othello’s marriage would not end up in tatters. It is therefore a major lesson as it encourages me to ensure I chose the best of friends and be attentive to their influences into my daily living.
Finally, through the character Othello, I am able to understand the importance of tolerance and humility. Although the character was a foreigner, he beat the norms and thrived in a totally different culture whereby he won a very high ranking position in the military. This means that no matter what individuals face, the only solution and way to success is through being patient and uphold hard work.
In conclusion, the combination of all the positive traits by this character
can be a stepping stone in my exertion to be successful. There are many adorable aspects that if applied in the day-to-day living, I can achieve greatness. Othello is a great character.
