How would you describe the relationship between science and medicine
answer
I was reading an article in nature about an address delivered by Sir J. Burdon Sanderson at the first meeting of the middlesex hospital medical society about the relationship between science and medicine. He stated that though the physician regards disease as a thing to be cured or prevented, while the investigator aims at discovering the causal relations between certain morbid changes and the conditions which give rise to them. Medicine has advanced chiefly be perfecting its clinical method using the expression in its modern and most comprehensive sense but that future progress will be obtained by the scientific study of disease as a natural process.
