What is National Basketball Association?
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a professional basketball league in North America. It is considered to be the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world and consists of 30 teams, 29 of which are located in the United States and one in Canada. The NBA has been around since 1946 and has become one of the most popular sports leagues in the world.The NBA consists of two conferences, Eastern Conference and Western Conference, each with three divisions. Each team plays 82 regular season games to determine their place in their conference standings. At the end of each season, 16 teams from each conference qualify for playoffs which culminate with a championship series to decide who will be crowned as champion for that season. The NBA has featured some of the greatest players ever to play the game including Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and others. These players have made a huge impact on not only how people view basketball but also how it is played today. Other legendary players such as Larry Bird and Shaquille O’Neal have also had an impact on both popular culture as well as inspiring people to play other sports besides basketball such as football or baseball. The popularity of the NBA has grown over time due to its intense competition among teams across different conferences and cities throughout North America; this makes it appealing not just to fans but also sponsors who want more exposure for their brands through commercials during games or ads on jerseys worn by players during these games.
