Runs back and forth all major apartment complexes, downtown, to the university mall, etc. Two-Town Trolley also runs to Christiansburg - Walmart, movie theater, New River Valley Mall 2. Smart Way Bus: $6 round trip, goes to Roanoke, leaves every 45 min 3. Home Ride: provides students with ways to get back and forth from NoVa, Tidewater Area, Richmond, JMU, UVA, etc 4. Mega Bus: from Christiansburg to DC or Knoxville then to many other large cities

Residence Halls (NOT DORMS)

1. Safety when entering: Hokie Passport will allow you to swipe and receive access into your residence hall. ONLY yours. Each hall has an RA who will help with all your basic needs, there is always an RA on duty. 2. Mailrooms: \"As we enter Newman, you may notice that I didn't need card access to enter this residence building. There are 2 sets of doors - no access to residential part.\" Entering the mailroom for Newman, and 4 other residential halls. 3. Laundry Rooms: can use debit card section on Hokie P, don't need quarters, but can use if you'd like. 4. 3 all Male, 3 all Female Residence halls. Rest are split up by section, wing, or suite. 5. Bathrooms in traditional cleaned twice on weekdays. Suites cleaned twice per week.

Res Halls are the only area on campus that is not wireless, but they're working on it. There are a lot of technicalities 2. Lofting the beds: loft kits come with rooms in most buildings, don't need one from home 3. Strongly suggested: - Fridge - Microwave - Area rug - no AC so bring box fans (2, top fans blows hot are out, bottom brings cold air in) - Posters - TV. Cable bill is already included in tuition

The gym: Entering War Memorial Gym (name given to commemorate alumni that fought in WWI) - Includes racquetball courts, basketball courts, wally ball courts, volleyball courts, squash courts, dance/aerobic classes, indoor swimming pool, weight room - Fitness center for both students and faculty 2. 1 of 2 gyms on campus - McComas is the other. War is not air conditioned, open to students and faculty, McComas has an indoor track, just finished cardio expansion. 3. On campus we have tennis courts, a golf course, and rec fields 4. This pool is available to students there is also a new aquatic center opened in Christiansburg

1. Varsity Level: Division 1 single A - in Atlantic Coast Conference. Basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, etc. 2. Club Sports: 31 sport clubs, tryouts and same amount of involvement as high school teams, but not nearly as competitive as Varsity level. Practice, travel, social events. 3. Intramural Athletics: Anyone can participate, play once a week, little if any practice, very relaxed.

Personal take 2. 3 components: - VT Rescue - Virginia Tech Police - Blacksburg Police Department -Virginia Tech Police: nationally accredited professional organization staffed by highly trained man and women. Operate 24 hours a day. Satellite station in War is NOT main station, main one is behind Lane Stadium. 2 dogs: Boomer the bomb dog, Boris the drug dog. Bike Patrol. Defense classes, police academy. 3. VT Rescue: student-run volunteer rescue squad that responds to medical emergencies on campus, responded to 4/16. ERT-Emergency Response Team (like SWAT) 4. Safe Ride: picks you up and drives you where you need to be on campus (231-SAFE) 5. Unarmed campus security patrol walks through buildings at night 6. VT Alerts: text-messages, emails, voicemails, and now desktop alerts are sent out in cases of emergencies, all students are required to register before classes selection 7. Blue light towers: approximately 60. Responding means getting out of car, turning key to turn off alarm, canvas the surrounding area.
