Kobe Bryant was an American basketball player who played his entire 20-year career in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is widely considered one of the greatest players in NBA history and won five championships with the Lakers. His work ethic, passion for the game and dedication to winning made him a beloved figure among fans and peers alike.Bryant grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he started playing organized basketball at age 3. He went on to become a high school star before bypassing college entirely to enter the 1996 NBA Draft straight out of Lower Merion High School. After being drafted 13th overall by Charlotte Hornets, he was immediately traded to LA Lakers, where he would spend rest of his illustrious career. As a rookie he quickly established himself as one of league’s best scorers and earned All-Star selections during his first three seasons.He was named an All-Star 18 times throughout his career – 15 times as starter – while also becoming an 11 time All-NBA pick and 2 time scoring champion along way. Even though often labeled selfish or difficult teammate early in career, Kobe always put team first when it mattered most; leading Lakers to 3 consecutive titles between 2000″2002 alongside fellow superstar Shaquille O’Neal before adding two more rings in 2009 & 2010 after famous feud with O’Neal which lasted four years ended. On April 13 2016 Bryant announced that season will be final one thus ending amazing 20 year run filled with individual awards but also regular season & playoff records that may never be broken again such as 33 consecutive games scoring 25 points or higher (2006). The tragic death of Kobe Bryant on January 26 2020 shocked world not only because it robbed us from honoring retiring legend but also because it took away life of 41 year old father whose daughters Gianna Maria & Natalia were passengers aboard helicopter that crashed killing everyone onboard including 7 other people making this accident worst aviation disaster since 1972 crash involving US marshals service plane carrying Senator John Heinz off coast Massachusetts claiming 12 lives total including future senator John Kerry who survived incident despite serious injuries suffered. Despite tragedy we must remember brilliant career full memorable moments like 81 point performance against Toronto Raptors (January 22 2006) seemingly impossible comeback win over Portland Trail Blazers after trailing by 24 points at halftime (March 16 2007) or even those dueling alley oops between him & Dwight Howard during 2008 finals against Boston Celtics ” all these memories are testament greatness Kobe achieved both on court off court giving back through various charities supporting families need providing scholarships inspiring next generation athletes no matter what sport they choose pursue path excellence just like Black Mamba did every day life until very end leaving behind huge legacy that will live forever our hearts minds wherever game played worldwide.
