Gravity is an invisible force that holds everything in the universe together. It affects every living and non-living thing on Earth, from tiny particles to large planets. Gravity is a fundamental force of nature that keeps us firmly grounded in reality and ties our Solar System together.The effects of gravity are often taken for granted because they are everywhere around us ” we don’t even need to think about it when walking or jumping. But without gravity, life as we know it would not exist. Gravity helps keep the planets, moons, comets and asteroids orbiting their host stars; it also keeps the air we breathe up here on Earth’s surface instead of evaporating into space; and most importantly provides a force which allows us to stand upright. But what exactly is gravity? How does it work? To answer these questions, scientists have studied this universal force since ancient times. They have used mathematical equations to describe its properties and behaviour, such as Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation which states that any two particles will be attracted towards each other with a gravitational pull proportional to their mass distances between them squared (F=GMm / r2). In modern times, Albert Einstein developed his General Theory of Relativity which further explains how gravity works by describing how matter curves spacetime around itself due to its mass ” creating a gravitational field or ‘well’. This theory has been tested extensively over time showing remarkable accuracy – helping scientists better understand black holes, neutron stars and cosmology at large scales. At the end of the day though ” no matter how much science can tell us about gravity ” there’s still something magical about being able to feel that mysterious tugging sensation whenever you step outside on a clear night sky looking up at all those distant stars knowing full well your own little planet is held together by this invisible power called ˜gravity.
