Archetype Essay Examples
An archetype is a pattern or similar sequence of events in a story or narrative. If an element or an experience in a story pops up in a tale from different cultures across the globe, that represents an archetype. Carl Jung discovered the concept of this classic paradigm. This Swiss scientist studied analytical psychology and psychiatry. After studying myths from several civilizations, he noticed that they shared common attributes. Consequently, he centered his hypothesis around the fact that every human has the same hardwired expectations about stories.
Some archetype essay scholars have written against the idea of this seemingly anecdotal concept. We cannot be certain, since no one has actually studied all the world’s cultures. This area of discourse is still a grey area. According to an online archetype essay example, this concept can be visualized in three perspectives. It could be character-related, situational, or symbolical.
