Essays on Ammunition
Ammunition is an important component in the use of weapons, primarily firearms. It is what provides a weapon with its means to fire and thus cause damage. Ammunition comes in many forms depending on its purpose and desired effect; rounds or cartridges can range from small-caliber bullets used for hunting to larger shells that are sometimes used in artillery. The components of ammunition include the casing, propellant charge, primer, projectile (bullet) and specialized projectiles that have additional purposes such as being incendiary or explosive.Ammunition has been around since at least ancient China where arrows were propelled by black powder. In more modern times it has evolved into various types designed for different applications such as handguns and rifles which require their own specific calibers of ammunition commonly designated by millimeter size (9mm). Other specialized types exist such as shotgun shells for shotguns and special rounds like tracers or armor-piercing rounds. Each type of ammunition requires a specific cartridge case with chemicals inside which are ignited by the firing pin when struck by the hammer producing a rapid expansion of gases within the chamber propelling the bullet down range at high velocity. Depending on its intended purpose, certain bullet designs may also be included in order to achieve optimal effects such as fragmentation upon impact or increased penetration ability against armor plating. The development of new materials and technologies has allowed for increasingly powerful rounds with greater accuracy over time along with improved safety features like reduced recoil for smaller arms enabling easier control during rapid fire situations.

Aircraft Investigation Each mishap has their own characteristics and there is no substitute for good old-fashioned common sense and initiative. Each wrecked aircraft has its own story to tell if properly investigated. However Air Force guidelines are quick to point out that investigators in their eagerness seek out the causes, often ignore safe investigation practices […]
A British ocean liner sailed away from a New York port on May 1st, 1915. Its name was the RMS Lusitania and its sinking, which occurred six days later on May 7th, 1915 is usually credited as a main reason why the United States decided to enter World War I (Unknown, OL). The sinking of […]
According to Kates and Don (2000), a gun is defined as a cannon that fires projectiles from a long tube known as the barrel at high velocities and in a low, flat trajectory. The fired projectile usually carries a charge that explodes when it hits its target. Some guns use ammunition that can pierce an […]
The M4 carbine rifle lies in the family linage of earlier carbine versions of the M16. All these riffles pick their developments from the original AR-15 designed by Stoner Eugene and produced by Armo Lite Company. Compared to earlier versions, the M4 is lighter than the M16 assault riffle, though it is 80% compatible with […]
There is an old saying among artillery men that their weapon is not the gun. It is the ammunition/shell, and the gun is only the last stage in transportation from the factory to the target. The same applies to all fire arms as they are merely devices for discharging bullets, shells, bombs/projectiles of one sort […]
